Head table guests included Mrs. Johnstone, Miss Beatrice -Campbell, Mrs. Lenard Warr, Mrs: "Elizabeth. Sitter, Mrs. Cliff Crozier; Mrs,' Wm. Porter, Mrs. George Morley] Mrs..S?y:' `i, .a 'is; itey Mrs, Norman Clairmont. Mrs. Win. Pater, president, presided and ' Mrs. ,Allan McTaggart was at the piano. Mrs. ' Bert Mills ,welcomed everyone in song. After a delicious dinner, Mrs. Porter ' conducted a short meeting which opened with the W.I. Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. ` The roll call was answered by members introducing their guests. \ Mrs. Elizabeth Sitter read the Secretary's Report and correspondence which included "Thank you" notes from Mrs. D. McMillan and Mrs. Jos. Thompson. Mrs. Warr sang .to her own accompaniment: • Mrs. Morley gave the courtesies. r Mrs: Keller expressed *appreciation for her invitation 'and mentioned the 4•H ,,Clubs. She suggested the W.I, appoint a representative to the Consumer Association which is to be organized 'very soon, 'and also that the members co-operate In ;a project of`telephoning or visiting ,Senior Citizens periodically. The regular meeting of Beta Sigma Phi was held at Victoria and Grey on February 1 with 15 'members present, ' Dorothy Feagan,` • vice-president, . is conducting- pledge training sessions with four new members. The traditional way of announcing an engagement in Beta Sigma Phi is to send a box ' of chocolates to her chapter, After offering congratulations to Dawn Hutton on the event of her engagement,, the girls enjoyed the chocolates she presented. ' • The ,Guaranteed Investment Certificate at Victoria and Grey is to be renewed for another year. Margaret Craig thanked the members of her Ways and,Means committee for their hely' in making the Hard Times Dance a success. Executive$positions were .filled and the teens were informed of the Sports Night which was going to take°place the next Sunday at St. Mary's School instead of the rek'ular-meeting. That meeting *was an even greater success for the turn out was almost doubled. That night consisted- of.. variations . of volleyball and basketball garnes and some folk singing. . This organization seems to have,the enthusiastic support of � Manx of the teenagers in the parish and is planning many other w'o'rthwhile activities for the future.
