asketball team seems to
go in for dramatics
BY RICHARD MADGE
Although coaeh Phil Bugler
denies it, rumour has it that the
.D.,C.I. Vikings senior
basketball team is trying "en
masse" to join the school Drama
Club.
Foundation ,f,,,:the report. is
probably based 'i;n the dramatic
method -by' which.'they have been
choosing to win basketball games
lately.
They provided another classic
performance here last Thursday
by going into the fdurt'h _quarter of
their game with Mitchell with
what appeared to be a safe, ten -
point lead, blowing it, and finally •
emerging two-point victors, 43-
_,
3 .._, 41.' Y'
Goderich had a• 29-18 lead at
half-time,w ahead and as a ea 41-31
at the end• of the third quarter.
Although coach Bugler was nett'
• happy with the poor fourth quarter
performance of his team, .the
..ending provided plenty of
_-excitement for the fans.
The win leaves the G:D.C.I:
seniors with a record of eight
winsand only one loss; They are
tied ,for first place in league
standings - with Clinton and
Stratford Central in' the Huron -
Perth Conference.
The Vikings have just one game
remaining and its a big one. Tpda.L
