greatest things about living in a
small town is the ability to
achieve, some recognition for
your efforts. After reading Ann's
story we agreed that it ,should be
published, if only to . dispell
some of the doubts. about
• today's environment and
thoughtful youngsters.,
A LOOK AT STORMS ,
As Goderich has had many
storms in its day, I thought it
just_xight to compose a story on
that very subject of storms.
(n • Goderich',, as .1 lie in- bed
looking frantically at each 'plain
wall, I feel an eeriness lingering'
in my frightened soul.,: as .the
wind pounds its fists on the large
panes of, my window. Each
storm ' activates the .nervous
button encased ,.in the.
storm -tossed cavern of my mind. '
I wish that 1 could go out and
tell the thunder to drop its huge,
powerful drumsticks and stop
beating its immense kettle drum. '
The electric plug of lightning
should -be • taken out of its
universal socket and stopped.
" Rain's faucets. '-should- be
ordered to hold, back ' the
torrents of moisture building up
behind them and if the water
leaks through` 'have each little.
puddle equipped with a drain
and plug and 'emptied
immediately.
` Storm should be massacred
by sunshine and moonlight..
The storm ends and
satisfied that all my wishes did
core true for just one night at.
least.
Think "..about it. Don't you
think ' you could do the same
thing?
