The Goderich Signal-Star, 1971-07-29, Page 16it G , , ciODERIQR SIGNAL-51'AR,, `1 H1riRSDAY, JULY 29,1971 From the Minister's study VVESLEY MEMORIAL • FREE METHODIST CHURCH 111ictholIs, Pastbe",, Moder, firebugs Some tinle ago, going back to my old home town, during tJ e Om-se-Vt.-con yersatibtr ,I -was told :of 'a. rash of fires that had taken place in the district; in The main, not too" serious, thanks to -a well organized local- • fire department.. • The .point I'd like to bring out is that when the \law tracked down the saurce of trouble, it was found to be ,a group of yout1r whose reason for doing it was, not to be a menace, but only for the kicks. These "fire bugs" remind me of another type of "fire bug" •whose work is more destructive and far reaching ,than the others, and yet is condoned with scarcely a flicker of resentment and only the mildest forms of reproof' are they ever ••faced with, and even .then' it's hard to be detected as reproof. or whether HU it's just old-fashioned 1ealousy. Of . course, I speak stn di'sre"spect of the,. rrrirri.wskir_a You'd be , surprised how many''; 'Token homes, hich, school acid' college drop out's from the girls' dorms, as well as the merciless practice of sacrificing otir girls in the furnaces 'of the Creat Goddess -of Sex, even before they enter 'their teens. The apostle Jaynes says, "How great a atter a little fire kindleth." Pew,, it seems, are aware of the safety measures wrought in the make up "of man, made available by his Creator. Who does. not Ipnow the low flash point in the sexual structure of animal nature in man? (I Aam staggered and frightened to realize 'how ignorant our female populous islet this). Of.course, I speak of the innocent. When those mini skirts' show ON CHAPEL up, if there is,enough to them to show -up, the powers' of- nature in ,h ..,,,Aa1'liniaL realm ' are almost ,Zee -taco to be aroused. But, the L police force ` of the moral principles are 'rushed to the scene' to keeplaw and order. But thank God if the case involved be a Christian, in addition, the fire department hastens to quench, extinguish,, or stamp it out as quickly as, possible, or quicker. It is by . no—means meant to infer that these things do, not have their place, the fact that they are God given settles that, but out of theirGod 'appointed - place they are, in their full compass, more devastating than the great fire of Chicago, and where is there a village, much less a city, where you won't fine these "fire bugs" swarming?
