Dear Mrs. Keller: ,
May 4'1 be permitted" a few
comments regarding the
-.scheduling of coming events for
the Town of Goderich?
o
As the year's schedule of
community activities is
-for!<lated by the many and
varied - groups •in the town,. it
becomes increasingly difficult to
schedule events at times that do
not conflict with activities of
other. groups that draw on the'.
. same community support for
attendance •°and participation.
.for a "community clearing
house"' for. ' • . co-ordinated
scheduling. T', know that it • has
,become a frustrating experience
for many active community -
minded workers to find, after
hours of careful planning, :that a
given event is in conflict „with
some other major activity on the
• same night. More often than not;
.it is too late to make changes.
These summarized comments
are not to be taken as a
reflection on the worthwhile
' services provided by our local
newspaper through such things
as: Coming Events, Sally Sees,
Woman to Woman, Roundabout
with Martha, etc. The -Signal -Star
through the vehicle sof the
afore -mentioned items does
provide a good outlet for what's ..
coming up •in Goderich. May I
ask that you examine the
feasibility of a "master
calendar", possibly co-ordinated.
