The annulPlayday of
Goderich Public Schools -was
held on Thursday, June 11 under
the direction of Mike Vrooman,
physical education supervisor of
G o derich Public:. . 8,chools,
assisted ' by Miss Helen Videan of
Victoria School. Grade six pupils
from. Victoria School acted as
officials, scoring and conducting
the events.
Approximately 330 students
from kindergarten to grade three
took part in the day which
included nine events, such,,, as
arch ball, Norwegian ball, dodge
ball, basket relay, circle change,
football snap, bunny jump
throw,' standing broad jump and
an obstacle ' course that posed
such problems as- doing a front
roll, skipping forward five times,
crawling under chairs and going
through a.hdop, etc.
The children pitched in with
fervor, and literally ±` ...had 'a
ball."
All childrert•'taking part in the
events were presented with a
ribbon and. winners -received
ribbons of various colors.
The' names of the winners
would have been published
except thatthe. children were
treated to' chocolate milk and
when ' the call went out' that the
milk was I' ready the winners
disappeared into the crowd of
milk gurgiers!
