It was an excellent idea to give. the . whole school an opportunity to hear 'the band, the wee Cluband to see the plays put on by the drama club. Afterwards, all the guests were invited to, view the science prujeets on, displayin the hall. ---The band played" _several hlr}, ..and,-,.G.h.Gfls" Senior `Choir, sang, "Seek First the Kingdom", "It's a Long Road to Freedom"; and "The Wedding Banquet". A trophy for Mr. chade's snow sculpture, and the volleyball tabs for the winning boys' and girls' teams, were handed out. The first . play the audience Witnel was "Bringing up - Junior". It told the. *story of .a young boy who created mischief by_reading his Mother's favourite book, "Dr, }whey's Guide for Parents"; which stressed that the newest child psychology ryas not to punish children ,for their wrongdoings. Junior took delight in disturbing his sister and brother by destroying their possessions, but took . special care riot ti.. touch his mother's. One fateful day, . however, he made the error of mistaking her new feather hat for sister Mary's, and ruined it to make an Indian headdress. It described how . a college boy had to dress up as hid pal's bride; because Mr. and tl 'I • n .a Mrs. William Winters, the groom's aunt and uncle, were to meet the alleged bride for the first time• After the relatives saw the "bride's"' large shoes, they knew something- was up, and when fourteen teabags were used for two cups 'of tea, more was suspected. The audience .roared, however; when the "bride" lost her skirt, revealing 'blue jeans. The hoax was up! ' Those taking part in the plays, were Jay To Sherry Boyce, Pauline Schwarz, Micky `Oru lkshank, Bonnie. _ White-°Errrie McMillan, -Bob,. Barlow, Graham Royal, Nina Knight, and `Stephen Smith. The director was Miss Aldous. We , all ' appreciated the performers' efforts, so thanks • for making Thursday and Friday .worthwhile!
