ircle holds annual meeting
The shoal meeting of the
Arthur— .Circle of " Knox
'Ieabyteriian Church was held in
`the church parlour Monday
evening .
The prayer .of .irvation was
offered , by President Lucy
Johnston.
The secretary, Ruth Skeoch,
read the minutes of the last
.meeting, and the treasurer's
. report. was given by Christena
Hyde.
The president conducted the
• kibusinesc period, and the annual
p,, luck supper was planned for
the January meeting. •
The Christmas worship service
was designed to help each
member • recognize the
magnitude of God's great.Gift of
His. Son to the world, and to
express gratitude and praise to
God for this gift. Several carols
were sung, accompanied by
Madeleine Edward, and a prayer
was offered by Ruth Skeoch.
A dialogue entitled "A Family
Circle at Christmas" was
presented by Pat Stringer,
Georgia Schaefer, Hazel
McCreath and Grace Cameron.
The offering was • ,.,rived by
Lucille . Henderson and Be+
Fisher.
The secret4tries presented their.
annual reports, and the slate of
officers for 1970 was accepted
and duly installed by the Rev. G.
L. Royal in an impressive
installation service.
He addressed the members
and asked the thought-provoking
question "Who are we to be
here?" and remarked on the fact
that as we are entering a new
decade, we must, each display a
greater faith.

returned home from hospital in
Kincardine where she had, been a
patient foUowing surgery.
Mr. John McCharles of
Petrolia spent the weekend with
his parents,
Mrs, Henry MacKenzie Was
hostess + to the w,M.S. of
Ashfield Presbyterian Church on
Thursday afternoon -for their
regular Christmas meeting.
From now until April 1st
there will be no Sunday School
at Ashfield Presbyterian Church.
The annual Christmas Concert
for the congregation of Ashfield
Presbyterian Church was held on
Friday evening. Rev. Kenneth
Rooney was in charge.
Miss Linda Wylds of London
was a recent visitor with her
parents Mr: and Mrs. Warren

University of Guelph is a visitor
with Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Bradley
for the holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Swan
attended a wedding at
Richmond Hill recently.
Mrs. Frank MacLennan spent
a day in London during the past
week, when she visited with Mr.
MacLennan who has been
hospitalized for the past three
weeks.

Mrs. Bill Farrish on the arrival of
their chosen daughter.
