It was learned that due to mailing errors, some members aren't receiving their League magazine. Members are requested to bring their views on poverty to the next meeting. This year 46 'Girl Guides and four leaders are enrolled in the Kingsbridge Girl Guides • sponsored by the Kingsbridge CWL. Clean used clothing can be left at the -back of the church for the Combermere Mission. It will be packed to be sent November 15 in time for Christmas. There is to be a•parent-teacher meeting at St. Joseph's School November 4. All interested people are asked to attend to hear Sister Judith outline the ' *religion course that is being taught in the school. , - Mrs. Carl Riegling read a letter from the group's family in India.- Mrs. Mark Dalton will write to 'the family this . month --and members are requested to bring , their donations for the family to the next meeting. Better attendance at meetings was advocated by Father Galea. CWL members were invited to bring guests to the November meeting. Persons knowing of Father Galea • to leave Reverend Father H. Galea, S.S.P., has received a new assignment as superior general of the Missionary - Fathers of St. Paul. Songs and games were played .,and sung by the girls with Lt. Ceasar and Lt. MacLennan in charge. - Campfire was held by Scarlet Tanagers under the direction of Patrol Leader Linda Doherty and second Anne Rising. Skits, group songs and jokes were very entertaining. Inspection and roll call by Lt. Ceasar and _ Lt. Sinnett. Girls:. went to patrol comers and practiced tying .knots, new guides reviewed law and promise. Capt. Tigert gave final details on hike, also discussed making articles for Christmas bazaar. Capt. Tigert informed the girls they would start practicing lashings next week. The meeting closed with'raps. Mills and Corp. Trail of the RCMP. The club voted $25 to St. John's Ambulance planned a trip to Mohawk ceway for October 28. Doug Cruickshank and Chuck Jewel have resigned from the Kinsxmen executive. Replacements were sought at the meeting this week. LOCHALSH BY MRS. O. Mrs. Donald Simpson and baby daughter arrived ' home from Wingham Hospital during the past week. ' Mr. and Mrs. Bob Farrislr of Kitchener spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Campbell. ' Donald B. MacKenzie has been a patient in Wingham hospital for the past few weeks. The MacKenzies have moved to Wingham for the winter months. JOHN PEPPER A former resident of the Auburn .district, Mrs. John Pepper .passed away last Friday in the South Huron Hospital, Exeter, in her 74th year. She was the former Elizabeth Fluker and was born and attended school near Auburn. She. was predeceased by her husband and is survived by tvllo sons, Roy of Exeter and Bloss of Ailsa Craig; two daughters, Mrs. Alex (Hannah) Miller of Staffa and4iIrs. Russell (Marian) Hooey . „of Wallenstein; also 11 grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday October 20 at the $onthron Funeral Home, Hensall with burial in.
