OES sponsors cooking demonstration at GDCI
Blue Water Chapter,. OES held
its meeting on Wednesday last
week with Mrs. Dorothy
Tideswell, Harry Tideswell
presiding in the east.
. There were quite a number of
officers. and visitors present.
Election of officers was as,
follows: Jean Stephens, worthy
matron; William Stephens,
worthy patron; Mary Bourdeau,
Wilfred Dockstader, 'Rose -Anne
Krepps, Helen Stoll; Mary
Henderson, secretary, Jean
Dockstader, treasurer.

a convention in the Royal York
Hotel, Toronto, on Sept. 17, 18
and ' 19 for the Grand Chapter
Order Eastern Star.
After the meeting a lunch was
served by the lunch committee.

months in Wingham and District
Hospital with a fractured leg.

returned on Tuesday from their
honeymoon trip to Western

Paul Curran suffereda fall off
his bicycle requiring stitches to
his face and mouth. He also had
several teeth loosened.
Mr. Keith Black is a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
About 50 ladies attended the
Tupperware party in the St.
Helen's • Hall on Saturday
evening.. Mrs. Bido and Mrs.
Webest'er of London
demonstrated.
Mrs. Bob Johnston, Karen and
Danny of Kincardine visited her
mother, Mrs. Laura McNeilon -
Saturday.
Mr. E. W. Rice is a patient in
Wingham and District :iospital.

and at Westfield said this week
the Westfield services were so
well attended that late comers
had to be seated in the basement
areas with a, public address
system set up to bring them the
service.
Music was provided by Ron
Snell on the organ and Eric
Campbell on the piano and a
solo was presented by Mrs.
Phylis Rodger in memory of her
grand,Aon. The Westfield
Quartet was a major attraction
in the entertainment field.
The Westfield Church has
become known as the Little
Church in the Valley and is the
home of the Westfield
Fellowship Hour, started this
year.,, with the purchase of the
former Westfield United Church.
Westfield is located between
Auburn. and Blyth, north of
Highway 25.
. BRIDGE SCORE
There were six tables in play
at the Goderich Duplicate 'Bridge
Club Tuesday night. Winners and
their scores were as follows: Bob
Fraser and Carl Lawless, • 831;
Mrs. Frank Reid and -Mrs. Bruce
Erskine, 76; Mrs. laud Worthy
and Mrs: Bill Duncan tied with
Omer Haselgrove and Art Wilson
with 731 points.

resigns
Miss Carolyn Croke, Hurpn
County librarian, said Tuesday
afternoon, that 'she will be
leaving her job at he end of the
year. She said there were many
reasons for her decision and
preferred not to discuss them
until she had met with the
library board. Her plans for the
future are indefinite, she said.
