turn, — but you have to get

Going from the harbour at the
north road to West Street you
pass three more parks. There is
Pratt Park right opposite our big
old jail, then continuing along
the river bank is another green
area now set up with tables and
seats and giving you a fine view
of the mouth of the Maitland

:Nelson and- Bruce Streets is all
set up and ready for action —

Lauriston School did their good turn of the, year recently when
they earned money to purchase diapers, hemmed the diapers
themselves .and then presented the finished works to the
Children's Aid Society. The children were commended for their
efforts by Miss C. McGowan of the Children's Aid -Who received
the gifts. Miss McGowan told' the girls '-'It is the nicest thing that ...
has ever been done for the Children's Aid Society."Left to right

our hardworking Parks man. One
is at the end of Wellington Street
— just where St. George's
Crescent starts. There is fine"
shade and a nice flower bed —
and you can stand and stare —
Don forgot to put a seat there! I
think Don and his. crew have
done a fine' job with their flower
beds all over town — this helps
make it one of the "prettiest
towns in Canada." Don't forget

The Annual Salkeld Reunion
was held at Camp Menestung
Sunday June 8 with a
smorgasbord dinner. About 45
registered. •
Terence Hunter, president,
had charge of the business
meeting.
T. J. "Salkeld gave the.
secretary -treasurer=s report •and
read several letters of greetings
from distant cousins including
Mrs. Jean Salkeld of Isham,
Sask.

- Brian Miller, 19, of Goderich,
received chest, arm and head
injuries when his motorcycle and
a car driven by a Clinton man
collided at Britannia Road and
Highway 8 last Saturday night.
Miller was admitted to
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital and later released.
Police identified the driver of
the car as Douglas Macaulay of
Clinton.

Victoria Hospital. on Sunday
June 8. He was 45.
Mr. Wood was born in
Goderich on January 1, 1924, a
son of Franklin „Wood and, the
former Catherine MacDonald.
He attended Victoria School and
Goderich District Collegiate
Institute and was employed by
F. A. Wood, on the Square, and
Wood's Cabins. He moved to
London in 1956 to become
Deyuty Registrar of deeds for -
the County of Middlesex.
