Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Fluffy White Rice

Food.
Dress up economy ground
beef with a sweet and sour -
settee, and turn_ an everyday
meal into a special family event.
For assert, spicy Muffins ,
give extra flavor appeal. Add
cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
to your favorite muffin recipe.
SWEET AND SOUR
MEATBALLS
MEAT:
141/4 lb. ground beef
'/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
'/4 tsp. salt
favorite seasonings (suggestions
include mustard, garlic salt or
garlic powder, sweet basil, celery
seed, oregano, parsley).
Shape into meatballs about
one inch in diameter. Roll each
ball lightly in cornstarch. Brown
in a small amount of oil.
Remove from pan and drain.
SAUCE: •
1 cup boujIlon (consomme or 1
bouillon cube plus 1 cup water
may be substituted)
W2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
salt to taste
Combine ' ingredients ,in
saucepan. Bring to a boil and
boil for two minutes. Reduce
heat. Add drained meatballs.
Simmer until meat is tender and
• sauce is thick. Serve hot over
•
mounds of fluffy white rice.
Serves four.

EASY CHOCOLATE SAUCE
2 envelopes (2 oz) liquid
unsweetened baking chocolate
(Nestle's Choco-bake) •
1 tin (151/2 -ce)---sweetened
condensed milk (Nestle's)
Mix unsweetened baking
chocolate
condensed milk. Store in plastic
container until ready for 'use.
,Can be heated or Served cold
.over -Chocolate Lime Chiffon'
with a sprinkle of almonds.
1 tbsp. milk or cream
2 cups sifted icing sugar
• 1 tsp.' vanilla
1 envelope (1 oz) liquid
unsweetened baking chocolate
(Nestle's Choco-bake)
1/2 a 151/2 oz tin sweetened
condensed milk (Nestle's)
Melt the half cup butter in a
• saucepan. Remove from heat
and add one envelope liquid
unsweetened baking chocolate
(Nestle's Choco-bake). Blend in
granulated sugar, one tsp.
vanilla, egg, graham cracker
• crumbs, coconut and nuts into
butter -chocolate mixture. Mix
well and. press into ungreaSed
nine inch square pan. Chill.
Meantime, mix the one quarter
,,cup soft butter, milk or cream,
icing sugar and one tsp. vanilla.
Spread over crumb mixture and
chill. Mix one envelope liquid
unsweetened ch6colate (Nestle's
Choco-bake) and sweetened
Condensed milk in a saucepan
and carefully heat. Spread4 thin
layer of this mixtureeRn top of
chilled filling and Mturn to
refrigerator to set. •Cut into tiny
squares before completely firm.
Yield: three to four squares ,
