Councillor Paul Carroll, representing Town Council, made some encoun ging remarks to the boys ,conveying best wishes for a happy, and successful season. He also made remarks in reference to, the long history of soccer and the importance of 'sportsmanship and physical fitness. He then kicked off the first ball of the season. The game itself was played in 'ideal weather. The Goderich Rangeis Soccer Club was defeated in the first game of the season last Saturday, in a�game played at Stratford: The Local team lost 3-0 to the Stratford " Fischers': Scorers - Were inside right, C.
