in a scoreless tie. Councillor Paul
Carroll, representing Town
Council, made some encoun ging
remarks to the boys ,conveying
best wishes for a happy, and
successful season. He also made
remarks in reference to, the long
history of soccer and the
importance of 'sportsmanship
and physical fitness.
He then kicked off the first
ball of the season.
The game itself was played in
'ideal weather. It was mainly �a
defensive game with most of the
play in mid -field. :. _ The

and 10 at GCDI, are working as volunteer hospitalhelp5ra at
Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Their duties include

Mrs. John Hallam.
The Goderich Rangeis Soccer
Club was defeated in the first
game of the season last Saturday,
in a�game played at Stratford:
The Local team lost 3-0 to
the Stratford " Fischers': Scorers -
Were inside right, C. Sharp, who
put one in the net in the first
minute of play with letting
Goderich touch the ball, and
Bob Karver, Stratford centre
