Observation on the Observations of Detonator Dan
Detonator Dan was a funii,i' old man,
And a funny old man was he.
Bitt he didn't like the clump,
That 'old, dirty garbage hump,
That was ther(or everyone to see.
•
Now, Detonator Dan, he had a real good plana
Tv clear away that smelly mess.
With a, charge of dynamite,
He would blow the garbage site,
°' To Kingdom Come, or somewhere else, / guess.
Without hesitatin', by careful •ealculatin',
Dan said he'd giee' fate a hand.
And because the thing must go,
(Provincial law had made it so),
Dan would lan fthe whole heap in the Mait-a-land!
The Council wasn't fussy; they thought,the plan was nnussv;
Cpon removal some could not agree.
They talked about the cost,
Dan showed that -nothing would hc' lost,
'Twould come back in the water, don't ►''sec?
Well, -Detonator Dan put firth another plan,
Tv divert the river to another course.
By a natural bridge, save moncv,
The learned Council deemed this junior,
Said he might pollute the Maitland at its source!
Poor DetonatorDan! They shunned his every plan,
And said how foolish thev'd,all be.,
But on their own they'd wrangle,
And let the matter dangle,
While 'the waiting price is paid by you and me.
