Lucky 'prizes for -Court Whist high lady, Eleanor Fisher; low wady, :.Isobel Sturdy;. high Man, Torn Moore; low' man, RusselMernighan, Two. relays were played with Gerry. Ginu's team winner both times. Hats were created and judge(1.with: best.lady hate Barba Sheppard - man ~- Leonard Fisher with consolation . to Wayne Homer and Isobel Sturdy. - A smorgasbord lunch and gifts .. completed- the evenings activities. Plans are under way for `:the winter card parties to commence ;January 11. 4 ' Mr,and` Mrs. .D. E. Whately .and family, Ottawa, spent Christmas with the latter's parents, Mr: and Mrs. J. Snider, Goderich. Beta Sigma.; Phi -Hold Pot Luck :;upper Mrs. 'Martha.' Rathliurn was the hostess . for "a ' Pot Luck Supper on Tuesday, .December 17, when the Beta Sigma Phi.. once . again ' rne't.. Members -brought a variety"`-' of • food • including .homemade rolls and bread, salads, meats and deserts. ° -fIt was a most delicious an±ay and everyone's pre -Christmas . diets' were, forgotton, at least for that evening. A busiiless meeting followed supper and' among --correspondence-read was-a•-letter thanking the Beta Sigma Phi for. ""the Christmas, gifts they had sent to a needy family. , a The cultural programme for - the evening._ was given by Mrs. --Lana Borriasuit and Ufook ,the form of a quiz which produced some•very surprising results. The next meeting will be held' on January --7-and.Mill include a tour of the Goderich Psychiatric Hospital.. _ 1 Ernest . My husband's mother has interpreted this .. tragedy 'as a personal insult. She has told the children that 'Aunt Nora°sinned and God punished her by burning her in a fire. I feel it is terrible to put such ideas into the, heads of children. My husband says,' @Keep ' quiet; there is already enough trouble in the ' fainly."
