Exeter vs. Clinton.
This being the first game of the sea-
son for Exeter club the score was not
so high as usual. Barge, whose 10 and
11 were got by careful and good bat-
ting, being the only Clintoriiau getting
into the doubles .T. H. Hyndmar, and
H. Elliot made some nice hitting for
their 16 (not out) and 13, respectively
in second innings. Gallery catches
were made by Spalding, J. H. Hynd-
man and I. R. Carling and also by W.
J. Carling whose playfulness and agil
ity delighted the onlookers. Those of
the home club who were'irt totally pros
trated by "Old Sol" etc , acted as street
lamps during the evening. '1'hc, gate
receipts were ----enormous. Fol-
lowing is the score: -
