Young, B.SO4, D.D., recently retired Chaplain at the University of Guelph. In the late 1930s Mr. Young served as minister in the, neighbouring charge of Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall. He graduated • from the Ontario Agricultural College in 1926 and from Knox College, Toronto, in 1929. His first pas. torate was at Manotick Ontario, from which he moved to take up respontsibility at Hensall. From 1936 to 1949 he was minister ofSt. Andrew's Church Fergus,with four years ab- sence as a chaplain in World War II. • In 1949 he was appointed Chap. lain and Public Relations Officer 'at the Ontario Agricul- tural College, Guelph. He re. tired•from this position in June of 1967. In 1962 he was granted the degree of Doctor of Divin. ity by Knox• College, in recog- nition of his service to the • rural church in Ontario. Mr. Young is an eloquent preacher and has always been in great demand as an Anniver. sary Minister and as an after- dinner speaker. He now lives in Elora., Ontario. RICHARD HALL Henry Richard Hall, DDS, '10, Goderich resident, passed away. October 5 after a lengthy Illness. He was born March 28, 1897 at Plattsvild.e, Ontario, the son of John Hall and Elizabeth• Bass. ?4r. Hall was a World War One" veteran and also served in World War Two as a dental surgeon. A • resident of God- erich for 45 years, he pract. iced dentistry here for 49 of those years.' He was married to Florence Durnin who survives hl n. Mr. Hall was an active mem- ber in Goderich community life. He ,was a Past Master of Malt, land Lode No. 33, A. F. and A.M.; a p st president of Mena. setung C noe Club and a past president of Goderich Bowling Club. A membe1 of the Pres- byterian Church, Mr. Hall ser. ,ved Goderich Knox Pres. byterian Church in many ways. throughout his lifetime. He was a past chairman of the Board of Managers; a member of the ti Kirk session and president of the Knox Church Memorial Trust. . Mr. hall is sttr4ived by one ,, sister, Nellie; Mrs. Jacob Gof. ton, of Plattsville. Funeral services were held October 8 from Knox Church with .Rev. G. L, Royal officiat- ing.
