During the monthly program, bus trips have been arranged to various centers of• interest throughout the sur. rounding townships. This jaunt, originally set for Friday, the 14th, was cancelled because of rain. Summer recreation and ,swimming programs have been conducted forseveral year now at the Judith Gooderham play. ground. The park itself was made possible through the don. ation of Mr. Knight,a former Goderich citizen, who at the time- of, donation, was: owner i • cular project from the construction material being used for this class. His only stipulation at• tached to the handsome grant of several thousand dollars was that the park be named In honor of his granddaughter, Judith Gooderham, a wish which the town councillors were only too glad to fulfill. Mr, Knight ,did not end his philanthropic ways towards the town of his birth with the grant for the park. Shortly after the park was completed and play. ground equipment installed, this wealthy Toronto industrialist made another exceedingly gen. erous donation to the town of Goderich. This money, he state ed, was to be used to construct a 'swimming and wading pool in the J. G. Memorial park. • With Mr. Knight's funds at their . disposal, town council quickly went ahead with plans for construction oil the swim. ming and wading pools.
