e new member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police yesterday
morning. Bryan James Feagan, left, Goderich, was formally
made a member of the RCMP by his own brother, Inspector H.
A. Feagan, right, of St. John's, Newfoundland. Inspector Feagan
was in Ottawa during the weekend, attending a personnel
training course and came to London to conduct the ceremony.
Constable Feagan, shown kissing the Bible, a part of the
ceremony, will, be stationed at-' Regina. They are the sons of
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Feagan, Palmer Street, Goderich.
Institute Hears Plea
For Proud Canadians
• "Let's be proud to say, `I'm
Canadian,' " Mrs. L. H. Diggon
told Goderich Women's Insti-
tute at its November meeting.
Mrs,. Diggon -reviewed the. 100
years since Canadian confedera-
tion and spoke of the triads
try's pioneers. She described.
-them as men of strong will and
purpose.
She said Canada's history is
interesting and colorful, and
representative of the cultures
of many countries.
W.I. president Mrs. Robert
Wilson thanked those who Work-
ed at the plowing match. Mrs.
K. F. Wilkinson 'asked for dona-
tions for shut-ins such as small
jars of jam. Roll call brought
forth items for the Children's
Aid Society. .
