Unconscious In London
DUNGANNON-We are sorry
to report the serious illness of
Laird Spivak, 12 -year-old son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Spivak, Laird
took suddenly ill at school last
Tuesday and was treated by local
doctors and removed by am-
bulance to Victoria Hospital,
• London, where he remained in
an unconscious condition until
Sunday, when he regained con-
sciousness. At time of writing
we are pleased to report an
inpprdvement in his condition.

the holiday weekend.

the funeral of Mr. McGee's
brother-in-law, Mr. Charles Flem-
ing.
The Ladies `Guild met in the
basement of Christ Church on
Tuesday. There were 11 mem-
bers. Bales were packed 'to send
to an Anglican Mission in North-
ern Quebec. Mrs. Graham read
a verse about prayer. Mrs. Agnes
Foster told of her trip to Tim-
mins. Rev. Jay closed the meet-
ing with prayer. Lunch was serv-
ed.
Rev. Wright will be showing
slides of New Brunswick on Oct.
17 at --8• p.un. in St. Andrew's
United Ohurdh.

The Deanery meeting will
be held next Wednesday,
Plans were made at hold a
penny sale with the pat luck
supper in November. Mrs.
Richard Buchanan will be in
charge and proceeds° will go
to the Vanier Institute.
A mass will be held for the
deceased •of the parish on Nov-
ember 11.
A plastic demonstration was
displayed by Mrs. Mary Hehn
oaf Wingham. Lunch was served 1
by Mrs. Jae Connelly.
OBITUARY
FRANK C. WALMS
A funeral was held last Thurs-
day at the Arthur funeral home
for Frank Clayton (Shorty)
Walters, 52, of Ingersoll, who
died at the hong of his sister,
Mrs. D. E. Glidden and Mr. Glid-
don of Holmesville. Ile was
the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Walters and was born
in Colborne Township. He serv-
ed with the Canadian Army in
the Second World War in Korea.
He is survived by one bro-
ther, . Benson, Toronto; two
sisters, Mrs. D. E. (Maizie) Glid-
don, Hobmesville; Mrs. Arthur
E. (Dorothy) Grange, Auburn.
Rev. Stewart Miner of Thames
Road conducted the service at
the Arthur funeral home and
burial took place in Colborne
cemetery. Pallbearers were
Elmer Fisher, Lepnard Fisher,
Grant Fisher, Benson Straughan,
Frank Flick and Arnold Allis.
Flowerbearers were members
from the Royal Canadian Leg-
ion, Ingersoll Branch 119.

DONNYBROOK -The October
meeting of the UGW was held
Thursday afternoon at the home
of Mrs: Stuart Chamney. The
theme on Thanksgiving was
given by Mrs. James Small who
had charge of the meeting. "We
plough the fields and scatter"
was sung and Ms's. Small led
in prayer. Mrs. Tom Armstrong
had charge of 'the business. Mrs.
Stuart Chamney read the min-
utes of "the previous meeting.
Janice Robinson received the
offering. Mr's. Edward Robinson
read tlhe Scripture. and gave the
meditation. Mrs. Tom Armstrong
had charge of a discussion
period.

Ontario Government BuysAgriculturcI Museum ' Land
The Ontario Government had
purchased 80 acres of land
to establish an Ontario Agricul-
tural Museum.
The project, designed to per-
petuate for posterity the tootls,-
implernents and pioneers of the
past, will be located in Railton
Oolinty.
Bounded on the north by "the
Macdonald -Cartier Freeway, on
the east by the town line of
Nassagaweya•' and lsqueSing
Townghips, and on the south by
the Halton County Conservation
Authority's Park and 'Lake Kel-
so, the location will provide
easy access for visitors.
Announcing that the land had
been acquired, _.gricultural_and
Food Minister Stewart said it
is proposed to maintain and
operate a museum to preserve
and display agricultural and, hor-
ticultural machinery, t o o 1 s,
paintings ,,and other objects of
agricultural • interest. The mu-
seum 'wild also illustrate the
,origins, development and, pro=
gress of agricultural a n d
her ticultural technology.
The museum wH1 also pro-
vide the Ontario Steam and An-
tique Preservers Association
with a permanent location for
their collection of steam -powered
equipment and agricultural an-
tiques.
The association, which has
been operating fox seven years,

annual calf scramble at Brigden
Fair this year, with 21 boys
taking part. Robert McCullough,
13, came second over the finish-
ing line after catching a calf.
His brother, Howard Douglas
was first last year at London
Fair, showing his heifer this
year and taking home sixth
prize money.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Lawrence
were" in Sarnia visiting Mrs.
Dickey in Sarnia hospital.

museum would be introduced at

ture, Mr. Stewart said that the
