Waterloo Lutheran University
will add a graduate program in»
psychology to its graduate pro-
grams this fall. The university
already offers post - graduate
courses in romance. languages
and geography. -
Dr. Neale H. Taylor, chair--
man
hair=man of the university's council
of graduate studies, said the,
new program will lead to a
Master of Arts degree in phy-
chology. •
Courses will be offered in re-
search design, -psychological
theory, learning, preception, in-
dustrial psychology, counselling
and assessment, and social psy-
chology. Three courses and a
thesis will be required for" grad-
uation. -
"It's not just that - we need
more psychologists, although we
clearly do," said Dr. Clifford
Anderson „actin. .chairman cif.
the university s department of
psychology. "But also that we
need mare psychology. .
"A program of graduate stud-
ies involves the• university in
support of research by staff and
students," so' that besides train-
ing individuals in available tech-
niques, the department can play
a responsible role in the de-
velopment of, new methods."

WVILLIAM JAMES ROBERTS
A -former Stratford cabinet
maker, William James Roberts
died in 'hospital on Tuesday at
the age of 80. -
Born in ' Barrow-in-Furness,
England, lie was thii' son of the
late Edward Roberts and Eliza-
beth James.
Ile was predeceased by his
wife, the former Edith E: Tobt.

othy) McCarthy, Goderich.
