There are approximately 61,0
students at GDCI and 60% of
those are town students. There-
fore school continued because
the majority of us 'were here.
In addition school must go on
to get a government grant. In
order to get this, students must
be registered at school for five
hours. And so school goes on.
• In spite of Monday's class

`Gabby Girls
On Wednesday, January 19,
the grades 9 and 10 held their
public , speaking contest. To
back up that old adage, "wo-
men are better talkers than
men," three girl?; and one boy
competed. Heike Nanz of 9A
'spgke on "President Kennedy";
Anne Aldir.: of 9B spoke on the
"Bombing of Heroshima"; Jan-
ice Redmond of 10A spoke on
the "Blackout"; Don Tipert of
1OC spoke on "The Game of Bil=
Bards."
. The -quantity lacked by the
buys was made up _by the qual-
ity of Don'sspeech. rHe came
in first while Anne Aldis came
in second. So women can still
be classed as great talkers.
