Community Club
The December meeting of the
Community Club was • held ' at
the home of Mrs. Barrie. Walter.
The president, Mrs. Sinclair, con-
ducted the meeting. Christmas
carols were sung and the Scrip-
ture was read by Mrs. Lorne
Rodges. Reports were read and
approved. A donation was made
to the Cancer Unit at Goderich.
Final plans were made for the
Christmas fprty.
A letter was read from Yong
Soo the adopted Korean boy.
It was reported that the tables
and chairs had been sold to the
Township Council. Some discus-
sion followed as to what to . do
with the money and it was de-
cided to look ipto different
-8 -where—ddoonations- -were-
needed before the January
meeting. The roll call was an
exchange of Christmas gifts. The
meeting closed with "Silent
Night, Holy Night,” and the Mis-
pah benediction.' Mrs. J. Oke
and Mrs. H. McCabe were co -
hostesses. .
Christmas Party
The Community Club gather-
ed Saturday, December 4 at the
Township Hall, Holmesville, for
a Christmas party.
The evening was 'enjoyed play-
ing EU hre and Crokinole. Win-
ners for euchre were high lady,
Grace Walter; high -man, Jim
Young; low lady, Edna Jantzi;
low man, Harold Jantzi.
Crokinole winners were: high,
Laurie Ginn and Bobby Sinclair;
low, Bonnie Westbrook and Tom-
my Sinclair.
A short program was held
with Jane Sinclair as chairlady.
Sam . Wain led in a sing -song.
A Christmas song_•by___Nancy and_
Laurie Ginn and Heather White-
ly vas much enjoyed. Sam Wain
gave selections rattling the
"bones." Bonnie Westbrook play-
ed a piano -solo.
During the • program newly-
weds john and Afailgaret, Prouse
were called on' and presented'
with gifts on 'behalf of the com-
munity.
The program ended with the
singing of Christmas carols. lid-
ta Westbrook accompanied the
sing -song.
A lunch was served after
, which Santa appeared with
candy for the children.
Entertain Patients
On Wednesday of last week a
group of six ladies from the
Community Club gave a birth-
day party for the patients at the
Ontario Hospital. A musical
program was presented and the
ladies helped with the birthday
gifts and in serving lunch.
Area Plowmen
Elect Officers
CLINTON.--The Huron Coun-
ty Plowmen's Association decid-
ed to hold next year's match in
conjunction with the Internation-
al Plowing , Match at Seaforth,
October 11 to 14.
The decision was taken at the
annual meeting 'of the 'group
here.. last Friday.
