OBITUARIES JOHN ERNEST McCOI(MICK A former accountant with a brokerage firm, John Ernest Mc Cormick, died at his home at 167 Cambridge street, Goderich, on Saturday, aged 78. Born in Beaverbrook, Albert City, N.B., the son of John Allen McCormick and Emma Ruth Ed - sett, he travelled extensively be- fore retiring to Goderich in 1956. He lived in Winnipeg after leaving Beaverbrook in 1906 and then moved in succession to New York, Mexico, Detroit, Hamilton and Toronto, before coming to Goderich, A member of the Baptist Church, he is survived by one brother, A4ery. W. McCormick, Winnipeg. and one sister, Mrs. Sarah. Mor;arity, Moncton, N,B. He was predeceased by sisters. Mrs. Mary Blossom MacCuspey of Goderich, and Mrs. Blanche Har- rop of Blenheim. Funeral •services were held at the Stiles funeral home on Monday with the Rev. Henry de Vries officiating. Interment fol lowed in Maitland cemetery. -4 M RS. MARG A1tET_LLi'DDY The death occurred on October 15 in Goderich hospital of Mrs. Margaret Leddy. Born in 18(36 in Watford Station, she moved to Colborne Township in 1929. ' Surviving are: Hugh, at home; Mrs. Leslie O'Neill of Thornhill; IMrs. James Boyle of Clinton; Helena at home. Pallbearers were: Frank Led dy, Norman Leddy, Carmel.) ALEXANDER NOBLE YOUNG A retired furniture finisher, Alexander Noble Young, died in Alexandra Hospital on Sunday at the age of 7Jj, Born in We t Wawanosh Town• ship the son of Samuel Young and Christine Robertson, Mr. Young resided in Wingham until he moved to Goderich in 1910. A member of the IOOF and North Street United Cllurcll, is survived by his wife, the former Phoebe Beacom. Also surviviing are; daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Olive Marion) MacDonald( and son, Harold For- rest Young, both of Goderich. In addition there are eight grand children and four great-grand- children. A silk -accented headpiece held her three -tiered scalloped Feil and she carried white, gar- lenias on a prayer book, with white streamers. Miss Shiela Rennie London, was maid of honor and Mrs. 3ordon Arblaster, London, sis- `er of the bride, was bridesmaid. !'hey wore identical gowns of midnight blue velvet with floor length skirts.. .-Richard A Millsnnwasbest man and guests were ushered by Gordon A. Arblaster and David Brazeau. For travelling the bride chang- ed to a beige and brown tweed cape suit with chocolate brown leather accessories and a white gardenia corsage. The bride is a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and the groom gradu- ti 4. Med from the Uni erstty of Western Ontario and Ontario College of Education. The couple will live in Clin- ton, where the groom teaches at Central Huron Secongary School. • • 40th Wedding For Local Couple Mr. and Airs. W. J. Turton celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at their home at R.R. 5, Goderich on Saturday, November 6. They were married on Decem- ber 30, 1925, by Rev. F.sli Paulter at the home of Mrs. Turton's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George Baxter, in Colborne Township. Mi. Turton is the son of the late • Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Turton, Folkestone, Eng- land.
