you letter was read from Mrs.
Edgar Lawson for flowers when
she had been a patient in Clin-
ton ,hospital. Invitations were
accepted to attend the U.C.W.
meeting at Carlow on Novem-
ber 14th and to attend the
W.M.S. meeting at Hensall on
November -25th when Mrs. F.
C. Knox, missionary on fur-
lough from India, will be the
;;nest !speaker. Plans were
made for the Christmas meet-
ing which will be in charge of
Mrs. Ed: Davies and Mrs. A.
Rothman.

Mrs. Bert Craig,, Worthy Mat-
ron of Regal Chapter' 275 of
the Blyth. Eastern Star, enter-
tained 27 officers and some help-
ers at a smorgasbord luncheon.
She was assisted by her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Leonard Archambault.
Euchre was played and the win-

Albert Doerr
Relatives in 'this district have,
received word that a former
resident, Albert Doerr, passed
away suddenly at his home in
Streetsville. Born in Hullett
Township, he was 72 years of
age and was the son of the late.
Mr. and Mrs. William Doerr
of Auburn. He is survived by
his wife, the former Bessie Cro-
zier, and a sister, Mrs. •Mary
Heinbuck of Stratford. A bro-
ther, John Doerr, passed away
last year at Blyth. The ` fun-
eral was held at Trinity. Church,
Streetsville with burial taking
place in the Streetsville ceme-
tery.
Joint Meeting
The A.Y.P.A. of St. Mark:s
Anglican Church and the Y.P.S.
of Knox Presbyterian Church

The president, Floyd Smith, was
in charge of the meeting. Floyd
Smith told about the Anglican
Youth Conference Which he at-
tended at Toronto recently. He
asked the members some of

up at this conference and a dis-
cussion period followed. The
minutes were accepted as read

Walkerburn Bazaar
The Walkerburn Club held a
successful bazaar in the Auburn
Orange Hall with a large at-
tendance. The popular bake
table was in charge of Mrs,
Ted Hunking, `Mrs. Jim Mc-
Dougall and Mrs. Roy Daer.
The apron table, which had
many colorful items, was in
charge of Mrs. James • Jackson
and Mrs. Guy Cunningham.
The farm produce table was in
charge of Mrs. Elliott Lapp,
assisted by Mrs. John Snyders,
who was kept busy selling ap-
ple cider by the glass. The
knitting and fancy work table
was in charge, of Mrs. Donald
Sprung and Mrs. Joe Hunking.
The candy table was in charge
of Mrs. Henry Hunking and
Mrs. Ariel Duizer,r and the
touch -and -take table was in
charge of Mrs. Leonard Arch-
ambault. A _dainty afternoon.
tea was served by the presi
dent, Mrs. Lorne flunking, Mrs.
Stanley Ball, Mrs. Stuart Ament,
and Mrs. George Schneider.
