Bayfield United Church was
artistically decorated with
spring 'flowers on June 1st .for
the wedding of Ramona Telford
and Remi Verhoeven. The
bride is the daughter of ]101'r.
and Mrs. Fred Telford ,of Bay-
field and the groom is the son
of August Verhoeven of Cedar
Springs, Ontario. Rev. A.
Pease officiated in the double
ring ceremony.
Given" in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor -
length gown of silk organza
over taffeta with a bouffant
skirt. Her shoulder -length veil
was held by a pearl tiara and
she carried a white Bible and
yelllow roses with lily -of -the -
valley.
Maid of honor was Miss Jo-"
.Anne Burrows of Stratford who
wore a yellow dress of taffeta
• and carried a bouquet of mauve
mums and lily -of -the -valley.
Groomsman was Roy Telford
of Bayfield and the ushers were
Stanley and George Telford,
both of Bayfield.
A reception was held in the
Bayfield United Church 'parlor
which was decorated with spring

ers for the b2-ide were held at
the home of Mrs. Elyvn Francis,
Bayfield, and by the Willing
Workers at Bayfield United
Church parlor.

PORT ALBERT. — The Port
Albert United Church Women
met in the church for the June
meeting with ten ladies pre-
sent. The president opened the
meeting with prayer and Scrip-
ture. The• roll call and reports
we're read and adopted. Six
shut-in calls were reported.
Mrs. Lednor is to give the roll
call and . study book for the
next meeting.. It was moved
that $10.00 be donated to Gode-
rich 'Summer School. Bazaar
plans were discussed. The study
book was read by Mrs. E. Craw-
ford. A friendly discussion on

Baptist Service
Parents should not take for

of their children, but instruct

said Mr. George Robertson, who
preached at the annual child-
ren's day service in Goderich
Baptist Church. The service
was conducted rby Mrs. George
Robertson, superintendent of
the junior congregation. ,. '-
Mrs. Wm.. Barlow played the
organ and gave a report on the
season's activities by the Mis-
sion Band. Miss Vera Wilkins
and Mrs• Robert Nephew assist-
ed the children as .they recited
and sang.

at an estate sale, Saturdays at
the West street house which
was long the home of Daniel
Wiggins included many intim-
ate personal belongings Ucum-
ulated during nearly a half -
century. 'There were hundreds
of p•hotographs and pictures, a
very old family album, books of
diverse kind and date. The
•house seemed to be much as
the last occupant left it for hos-
pital last year. Mr. Wiggins,
once .,a noted athlete, and for
30 years with the Western Can-
ada Flour Mill here, had been
retired for a decade. IIis wife,
a patient in hospital here for
several years, died in 1962 and
his brother James last January.
Daniel died February 18 last in
his 88th year.
One Of Oldest
The frame house, one of the
oldest in Goderich, built in
Canada Company days, waS put
up at the sale, conducted by
auctioneer Harold Jackson, but
subject to a reserve bid and was
not sold. Donnelly, Donnelly &.
Murphy are solicitors of the
estate. °
• First recorded owner of the
pl'operty was Ben Miller, who
also owned much land in the
village which bears his name.
In 1841 'it passed to 'Baron de
Tuggle, who built and resided in
the commodious log house at
Ridgewood Park. Later in the
