For the second year in suc-
cession Goderich Figure Skat-
ing',Club attracted a good-sized
audience to Goderich Memorial
Arena Saturday night for the
"1963 Ice Review" when the
club members under the ,direc'
tion of Mrs. Sylvia Brady pre-
sented a, colorful performance.
Obv,i64tsly a great deal of
practice and instruction was re-
quired to organize the perform-
ance, and an equal &amount of
work and ingenuity expended
on preparation of pretty and
unusual costumes.
AppeaIing Scene
One of the most appealing
scenes of the show was the
"Toyland" number in which the
youngest tots 'and beginners
took to the ice in spectacular
color in the guise of poodles,
teddy bears, kittens, clowns,
cowboys, a jack-in-the-box,
books and even toy `blocks.
Another well -executed num-
ber was performed by the older
skaters in the "Indian Scene,"
in which the principal parts
were taken by Dirk Wolterbeek,
John, Lewis, Kevin Mills as
braves; Carolyn Watters as an
.1ndiaii'N'' princess; Wendy Row-
lands. as~an Indian prince and
Shirley -Alin Hamuth as an In=
dian girl. These performers
were backed up by a large war
party of braves who yver,t
through an interesting war -
dance routrn about a simulated
camp Are at centre ice.
Other solo numbers were pr.r-
formed by Vickie Needham in
the Dutch scene. Performers
listed in the Showboat scene
were Jackie Lewis, Lynda Gem-
einhardt, Bonnie McGee and
Susan Sale.
Music Poor
The young performers were
handicappdd in their efflorts
throughout the program by faul-•
ty music reproduction ' on the
public address system in the
arena. The skaters seemed to
