TOWN COUNCIL DOINGS
RISTMAS LIGHTING FOR.
S UARE GETS $300 GRANT

Town. Council on Friday even-
ing authorized the granting of
$300 to the Goderich Business..
men's Association to help fin-
ance the Christmas lighting ar-
rangements on The Square.
The P.U.C. iseto be asked to
give improved lighting. serviet:
on Blake street, between South
and Keays street, and on Wolfe
street.
Mention was made of streets
littered with broken branches
as a result of a recent wind
storm. The chairman and vice-
chairman of the public works
committee were given power to
proceed with necessary atten-
tion to trees in town.
Town Clerk S. II. Blake re,
ported that uncollected town
taxes were about $2,000 higher
.at this time than, they were at
the same time a year ,ago.
The names of 'three ratepay
ers, now listed as public school
supporters, .are to be transfer-
red to separate school suppott-'
ers at their request.
