that Jesus suffered to provide
for us an entrance into the
Father's House. To recognize
'Jesus as the. road to heaven
ends confusion and dispels. per-
plexity. It gives the believer
assurance , of God's everlasting
street.to the swimming pool.

Phillip Ambrose, London, was
fined $35 and costs in.Magistrate
Hays'. police court when he
pleaded guilty to 'driving a
motor vehicle in Goderich Town -
shop on February 27 at thp rate
of 100 miles per hour in a 50

Two clergymen from Blyth
travelled to Auburn. for their
Sunday service by taking a hand
ear along the railroad. Roads
in the Auburn district were al-
most impassable.
At Mafeking; Isaac Cranston

5, Goderich, pleaded guilty to
having beer in his possession
illegally on February 18 last and
days in jail. •
Zane Lawrence Yerkin, 19;" of
RCAF Station, Clinton, pleaded
guilty to having beer in his pos-
session which he did not pur-
chase himself and was fined $25
and costs or in jail.

William Campbell, passed away

Mrs, Agnes Foster, Sheppard -
ton, and her sister, Mrs. Whitely
Dougherty, left by train to visit

Mrs. B. W. Thorne, Toronto,
Mrs. H. C. Cuff, Brantford, and
Miss Jane ,Wells, London, were
guests of their sister, Mrs.
Charles Huntand,Mr. Hunt.
LAC Percy Smith, of the
R.A.F., had returned to town
after spending over two Siears
overseas. -
Mr. H. M. Monteith, the man-
ager of the Bank of Montreal,
was being transferred to Sault
-Ste. Marie. Both Mr. and Mrs.
Monteith had been very active
in local organizations.
10 Years Ago -1951
Bert SanderSon, "Nip" Whet-
stone, and George Parsons were
busy lining up -prizes for, the
Lions Club perch derby. George
Buchanan was chairman of the
ticket sales committee.
Miss Gladys- McDowell and
Miss Esther Hume of the Gode-
rich Public School staff and
Miss Elliott, of the collegiate
staff, were attending the O.E.A.
convention in Toronto.
When Arthur Murray went to
the home of hi g father, Walker
Murray, at Port Albert, he found'
him dead.. An autopsy revealed
that death was due to fumes
from a coal stove.
After more than 20 years of
faithful service, Leslie Jervis
had retired as mail courier for
R,R. 2, Clinton. Charles Hutch-
ins had been named his suc-
cessor.
Thomas Salkeld, Lucknoyv,
was re-elected president of the
Huron Fruit Growers',, Associa-
tionat their annual rneeting.
J. W. Joynt, Lucknow, and Clay-
ton Laithwaite, Goderich, ad-
vanced a proposal to enlarge the
membership of the Astociation.

"Huronview" is to be the new
name for the Huron County
Home for the aged at Clinton.
This. was decided at the session
of Huron County Council last
Friday.
The home committee has been
advised that the daily rate -for
1961 must be set at no less than
$3.11, in line with operating
costs. Inmates will be moving
into the newly constructed wing
some time in April.
Price of admission to Huron
County Museum be 35 cents
for adults instead of the, prev-
ious 25c: The children's fee will
remain at 10 cents. - •
