combines 'the houeshold tele-
phone with a wide range of
intercommunication features
through the use of loudspeaker
microphones.
A farmer plowing or haying,
for example, could use Farm
Interphane to communicate with
•the house. Another could have
itwo-way conversation with his
wife to . thecgki'tehen , nvrthaut
leaving the orchard. The ap-
plications of this system are
seemingly endless, Bell Tele-
phone points • out, and many
have" been tested in field trial's.
Although Farm Interphone is
not yet available in Canada, it
will prcSabiy be on the market
sometime in 1961.
The basic Farm Interphone
system consists of a master tele-
phone in the house, an exten-
ion phone in the barn 'or other
outbuilding and' one or. more
two-way loudspeakers located
around the farm. Each tele-
phone is equipped with a spec-
ial loudspeaker -microphone and
a button which enables the

calls or regular phone calls.
Telephones and loudspeakers
tan'be added to suit individual
requirements.
Thissystem will ens le the -
farmer to keep in touch with
outside -contacts from his barn-
yard, 'outbuildings or fields. For
example,,, a call on the main
telephone can be taken by his
wife from a caller who needs
information from the farmer.
She can hold the call at the
touch of a button, and by turn-
ing another, switch, use the
intercom and loudspeaker sys-
kent to call him. Her voice is
carried throughout the farm
wherever a Farm Interphone is
located — ,barn, dairy, poultry
house or shop --and to the out-
side work areas — barnyard,
orchard or field. The farmer
can ansrwer without eveb touch-
ing the communication system
or stopping work,
Life With Father
(Continued from page 1)
aplomb 'by Marjorie Macfie, and
her young protige, Mary, the
i'weet, dedicate lass who brings
romance to Clarence,' a part
aptly portrayed by Gail Sully.
Throughout the action of the
play are also the supporting
roles taken by the ever-chang-
ing staff of servants—much to
father's disgust and irritation"—
(Carmen
rritation'(Carmen de Haan, Margaret Rey-
ndl'ds, 'Robin Sully, Sybil Mar-
riott) and the stalwart long time
cook, :Margaret (Winifred Win-
ter). The influence of the fam-
ily physician and a consultant,
(Arthur Currie and Carl Dor-
land), and of their •minister,
("Bucky" Graham) are- all • of
importance to the chain of
events in this fast mo`vin: de-
' ightful comedy.
Mr. Baskette aptly takes 'his
actors through thisextending
hain in a smooth, artistic man-
er. Voice projection, so im-
portant' in theatre, has been
well instrudted and his actors
move on stage as -if they were
"living"- this experience. Tim-
ing and grace 'of motion in ac-
tion, flattering little gestures of
personality, all developed to'
compliment one another, 'are
but some of the professional
accomplishments of our guest
director. 'The interpretation
each cf the d'ctors gives to his
ind'ividu'al role *shows that he
has acquainted each to the deep
understanding of 'the part they
play, which can be said to 'be
'he secret of Mine and versatile
direction.
The Wednesday evening audi-
en=ce applauded this presenta-
tion warmly and it is most like-
ly they will urge their friends
'a see "'Lille With Father" at
either the Thursday or Friday
evening performance, curtain
time 8.30. .It is not often a
celebrated (Broadway hit is
brought to Godegich, and with
the promise of two more such
clays to be viewed in the spring,
it makes a season membership
a rewarding possession. There
are memberships still available,
w1hich can •be Procured either
^t
the Theatre 'office, 124 The
Square, or on the two remaining
evenings of this performance at
MacKay Hall. A membership
entitles one to see all three of
these fine productions, and if
the success of the Goderich
Little Theatre can be measured
by the acceptance of this first
play, this ,is, surely to be the
roost promising year in the
.history of the group.
