as well as Mr. Geo. Expert, 'or-

Goderich. (Mr. John Stephens,
organist and choirmaster ,of St.
George's Church, was at the
organ throughout the afternoon
and evening.'
During the two-hour practice
session, Mr. .Cook trained. the
group in the canticlet, pslarn,
,velrsicles, ',hymns and anthems
sung .later at the puiblis service
of evensong. ti
He urged that choir members
observe three main points, de-
votion, regular attendance and
concentration. "After all," he
said, "no matter how talented
your organist, he can't work
'miracles if his choir members
do not attend practice regular-
ly." Admonishing congregations
in general, she said, "Anthems
are sung' on behalf of .the whole
congregation as an act of wor-
ship to God, and not merely as
a showpiece- for the talents of
the chbir members."
For his sermon text, Dr. Ken-
neth E. Taylor, rector of St.
George's Church, chose, "Shew
yourselves joyful unto the Lord,
all ye lands: sing,rejoice and

the singing of the service. He
praised the "often self-sacrific-
ing" work done by organists
and choirs in this Deanery.
Quoting' from the (Churoh
Times, he said, "There is not a
church in the land that does not
owe a great debt of gratitude
to church music."

School Donation

met at the, home of Mrs. Con
Baechle.r on Wednesday even-
ing of last week for the Novem-
ber meeting. The president,
Mrs. Leo Walzak, presided.

the Diocesan Educational Award
Fund. The proficiency' prize for
the. highest marks in Grade X

Mrs. Walzhk reported that she
and Miss Carrie O'Neill had at-
tended the annual Deanery
meeting.
It was decided this year that
the League would concentrate
on help for the children at Mercy
Shelter and St. John's Training
School.
Final plans were completed
for the Christmas 'Pair to' be
held in December.

Cream produce in the Hur 0
onyerth zone have \clecided to
urge the Ontario Cream Produc-
ers at their annual meeting,
November 15, in Toronto, to
press for same type of market-
ing board to market, all dairy
praducts. Such a board, mem-
bers felt would be in a prefer-
red position to export whatever
roduot was in oversupply. •
The provincial meeting will
also be requested to .group all
vegetable oil products .(other
than sdap) With lard and that
they'be listed together for gov-
ernment production' figures re-
leased to the press. ,
The zone gave support to a
matter regarding "inadequate
portions of butter senved to the
public in restaurants." — as
brought u.p at the' recent, a‘rintrar
meeting in Toronto of the „On-
tario Federation al Agriculture.
A resolution was drafted by the
meeting at Clinton last Thurs-
day evening to be forwarded
to the provincial meeting, ask-
ing that appreciation be extend-
ed those restaurants whichtpro-
vide a suitable portion of butter
to customers. Pritir to -the
war a 'pound of butter was cut
into '48 servings, said one por-
ducer=---while today chat same
pound is cut into 96 servingna..
The group Win also request
the provincial body to ask that
the federal price support for
butter fat be not less than the
present 64c per pound, over the
winter months.
'Taylor's Corner
—The WA. met in the school-
house on Wednesday evening.
The meeting was conducted by
the vice-president, Mrs. Gerry
Ginn. Final preparations were
made tfor 'the bazaar. The
Christmas meeting will be held
in the school on the first Wed-
nesday evening in December.
There will be the usual gift -ex-
change. Mrs. J. Young and
Mrs. E. Radges were hostesses.

spent the week-encr.in Water-
ford at the home of their son,
Chester and family. While
