GUIDES .AND BROWNIES
Knox Church Auditorium was
a 'beehive of activit')'as .1150
Goderich Guides and Brownies
and their leaders held their an-
nual' tea and bake sale un Sat-
urday.
Around the walls were large
, cardboard cutouts -131, 1. -he' €ttrde
trefoil and the Brownie Elf and
large baskets o'f mums were
tIplaced t hronghott ; -'hie vaV1*
The tea table was attractively
centered with a large bowl of
yellow mums and yellow can-
dles, and the small tea tables
held a single yellow candle and
yelItow mums.
Throughout ' the afternoon,
Guides and Brow.pies took turns
pouring and serving tea, sand-
wiches and cookies, . while
others helped on the bake and
candy tables. Several of the
mothers kindly 'worked in, the
kitchen throughout the after-
noon so that the Guide and
Brownie leaders ,might be free
to •circulate 'throughout the tea
room- - ori help things run
smoothly. , ,
A draw for a beautifully dec-
orated cake, donated by Art
Curry, was won by Miss Ann
MadEwan.

MRS. W. A. MILLER
A lifelong resident of St.
Helens, Mrs. Wallace A. Miller,
67, died suddenly while plan-.
ning to attend an anniversary
church service. The largely at-
tended 'funeral service 'was held
at 'Lucknow and interment was
in Greenhill cemetery. Rev. B.
F. Green paid tribute to her
life of efficient and faithful ser-
vice in the church and commun-
ity. Ralph Howlett, of Brant-
ford, a former 'minister at St.
Helens read a Scripture passage.
Mrs. Miller was the faithful

Helens for years and 'her con-

ed. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs.
Allan Milder, of :Lucknow, has
kindly consented to carry on
