'handcuffs on him, it was disclosed
in magistrate's mat here.
They finally did it ' by linking
ONO sets of handcuffs together.
James McClure, 46, of R.R. 4,
Goderich, was sentenced to seven
dads in jail and ordered to pay
Court pots or serve seven days
additional. His driving license was
'suspended for six months and his
vehicle impounded for three
months. '
Magistrate D. E. Holmes called it
"about,as glaring a case as I've

heard n a good while." But he
said he would, take into consider-
ation the fact that the man had
no previous convictions against
him,

Asked to get out of the car, the
driver did So; but staggered, said

"peculiar alcoholic odor", on the
man's breath

drunk driving, McClure struggled
with the constable and refused to
get into the police car.
"He said, `I should hit yo'," re-
called Constable Westdver. To
this, the officer had replied, "That
would be the second mistake you
made tonight, sir:"
As the constable 'momentarily
turned his attention to the police
radio, McClure started to run away,
"flailing his armsaroend" anclvent
in a zig-zag manner down the high-
