SCOUTS RAISE CAMP FUNDS
BY COLLECTING' BASKETS
A total of 1,366 baskets were
collected around town on Wednes-
day of laSt week by the Boy Scouts
as a project to help raise funds
for their' annual 'camping expedi-
tion. The baskets sold for a total
of $66.80. All went to Ivan Lou -
Doughnuts are also b,„eing sold.

OBITUARY
Wilfred „T. O'Loughlin died on
June 4 at the age of 57 years.
He was a former resident of Ash-
field Township, but had been re -
,siding in Detroit lately.
He was unmarried and. is sur-
vived by two brothers, Leonard and
Matthew, Of .Ashfield, and a sister,
Mrs. Bernadette Adelman/1, of De-
troit.
Requiern high mass was sung at
St. Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge,
by Father H. Van Vynckt, on Sat-
urday Morrang lasl„ with burial in
Kingsbridge cemetery.
MRS. ALBERT RIVERS
Mrs. Albert 'Rivers, 92, died at
the home of her son-in-law and
daughter, ..Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
lowing a -lengthy illness. Mrs.
Rivers, the fermer Mary Jane
Nixon, was. born -tir Mcitietilfg
Township,. near Georgetown, daugh-
ter of the • late Hugh Nixon and
Margaret McFadden. Mr. Rivers
predeceased her in 1930.- They
came to the Seaforth district in
1924. Mrs. Aivers was , a member
'and1(45 life member of the
W.M.S. of that church.
' Surviving, are, two. daughters, -
Mrs. Elmer -(Margaret) Snell, Sea,
forth; Edna Rivers, Toronto; three
sons, Clifford, Sask.; Harold, Gode-
rich, and Stanley, Toronto; eight
grandchildren and nine • great -
The funeral service was on Sat-
ilirday afternoon at Seaforth. Inter-
ment was in Maitland cemetery,

JAMES A. YOUNG
James A. Young, a life-long resi-
dent of Xshfield Township, died
on June 4 at Alexandra Hospital,
at the Age of 72. Although a semi -
invalid for SOT110 years,, he had
entered the hospital calS the day
before his death, He was a son of
Alexander Young and Mary. Ann
:Vfathewsdn of Ash;leid Township
and ha4 been engaged in 'farming
all his life.
His wife, the former Olive Jack-
son, survives a§ well as a daughter,
Mrs. Gordon (Ramona) Martin,. of
Ashfield Township. and a son,
Douglas, also of Ashfield Township,
Other survivors are-: three siiters,
Mrs. Jennie Martin, of Renora,
Mrs. Wm. Drarrer, and Mrs. Archie

Albert 'United Church and the
pastor, Rev. Roy-Rennedy, of' Dun-
gannon, conducted the funeral Ser-

James Brown, and Leroy, Elmer

Maitland Golf Ctuh on Wednesday
