EWELL Under the banner of The Salva- tion Army, a wedding of local in- terest tool place on Saturday after- noon at 2.45 at the Citadel, Water- loo street, decorated with bronze mums for the occasion. Sr. Major C. N. Strickland, of Windsor, heard the wedding vows of John James Harold Johnstone, son of the late itlir. and Mrs. E. Johnstone, of Kin - tail, and Ivy Jane Jewell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Ruddock, of Goderich. The bridesmaid was Sr. Major E. J. Cjarke, of Toronto, and Mr. A. Wo'iiffe, of Goderich, attended the groom. The bride and bridesmaid, as well as the flag bearer, Miss tetty McArthur, of a ondon, wore army uniforms and coi ages of -carna- tions of army colors; yellow, red and blue. Mrs. Wilfrid Donaldson played the wedding music and accom- panied 'Mrs. Clarence Chisholm, the bride's niece, as she sang, "The Lord's Prayer." Guests from out of town were Sr. Major and Mrs. C. N. Strickland, of Windsor; Misses Betty McArthur and Gladys Spinner, of London. A reception was held for the wedding party at the Club Grill. They will reside in Goderich. Prior to her wedding, friends and neigh bors of the bride held a surprise party and presented her with beautiful gifts. Former District Resident -Ori CBC A recent TV program of the CBC, showing the progress of the Peace River district, held special interest for Douglas, Bruse,,,,apd Wallace McDougall, of Goderich Township. On the program appeared their brother, Roy McDougall, who left Goderich Township about 38 years ago and who now lives at Findlay Forks, B.C.
