Good representation was present from the three districts, East, West and South Huron. (Mrs. Wes 'Bradnock, president of West 3luron was in charge of the meet ing with the Londesboro branch conducting the :registration. A wel- come was extended by the Lalides- boro president, Mrs. Stanley Lyon. Greetings were broughtfronn South I•Itiron• by their president, Mrs. E. Desjardines, and from Mrs. C. Southeran, in the absence isf their president from East Huron. Guest speaker of 'the'morning session was Mrs Stanley Inride, of Fordwieh, who brought a detailed account of. the Traiarnlrig Foru>fn. She spoke on the cha ging rural scene, trans- portation and our obligations to new Canadians. Mrs. Arthur Clark was appointed delegate to the 1958 Forum with Mrs. Otto Popp, of Dungannon, as alter 1 ate. A box lunch was held at noon in the basement, with.. the Lonclesboro ladies serving coffee. Mrs. N. Clairmont, of Goderich, moved a vote of thanks to the Londesboro ladies. St. Mark's Family Night. — A family night dinner for the mem- bers of St. Mark's Anglican Church and their families was enjoyed -last Wednesday evening in the Orange •Hall. Rev. Bren de Vries was master of ceremonies. The pro- gram was: A quartette composed of Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell, Mrs. John Daer, (Miss LilaDaer and Mrs. Gordon Taylor; soo, Frank Nes- bitt; duet, Misses Margaret Clark and NormaHensch. ,Miss Claire Taylor, of Blyth, showed slides of her trip to Vancouver last sum- mer. She was a delegate to the A.Y.P.A. convention' there. Mr. Gordon R. Taylor showed colored slides of Manitoulin Island 'and some of the Hower gardens of this district. There was a piano duet by Miss Margaret and Master George Clark. lA solo was sung by Frank Nesbitt, accompanied by Mrs. Nesbitt. Rev. Bren de Vries thanked the committee, Mrs. Al- fred Nesbitt, Mrs. Thomas Haggitt and Mrs. Clifford Brown for the lovely evening. - Auburn Annettes.--The second meeting of the Auburn Annettes met on November 15 at the home of Mrs. Ed. Davies. The secretary, Audrey (Machan, read the minutes. All members were present except Donna Powell. Shirley Brown, a new member, joined the club. Music for dancing was supplied by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kernighan and Gordon tMcClinchey. Mr. Harvey Hunking thanked theladies of the Walkerburn Club for the lovely evening. The minutes were read by Mrs. Alvin Leatherland and the treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Fred Ross. The nominating committee, Mrs. Wellington Good, Mrs. Ed. Davies and Mrs. Ray-Daer were asked to bring in the 1958 officers at the December meeting. •Mrs. Robert J. Phillips played an instrumental of a medley of tunes. The chapter of the study book was given by Mrs. Frank Raithby. The offering was received by Cheryl Stewart. A solo was sung by 'Mrs, Bradnock. At the Y.P.S. of Knox United Church, the call to worship was given by Walter Cunningham. Scripture was read by Marlene Easom and John Buchanan led in prayer. The offering was received by Gerald McDowell. The topic was given by Walter Cunningham. It was decided to send $10 to the Indian School in Alberta. The next meeting wilI be in the form of a Christmas party and will also be the eloeFiQn of ofacers. Farewell Parity. •— About 50 friends i' and• neighbors of r. and, Mrs. John Daer gathered, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daer to honor them before their depar• tura to their new home last Mon- day evening. Relatives and friends of the late Mrs. Harry Youngblut attended the funeral at Zurich on Wednesday. Mrs. Fred Mutch, of Clinton, is visiting her niece, Miss ° Sadie Carter, this week. Miss Lila Youngblut, R.N., of Goderich, visited one day last week with her brother, Arthur Young- blut. Life Memberships Presented. —, The November meeting of the W.M.S. was held at the home of !Mrs. William Porter on Wednes- day with ten members and two visitors present. The treasurer re- ported that the 1957 allocation had been met. The ladies voted that $10 be forwarded to Mrs. Fleming, who was guest speaker at the October Thankoffering meeting, this donation to aid missionary work in the Arctic. Mrs. E. Mc. Ilwain read a Christmas letter from Mrs. Irwin in Korea. The worship service was taken by Mrs. A. Ful ler, the themes being "Thine is the Glory" and "Unto Him every knee shall bow." The leader read the Scripture. Mrs. E. Mcllwain intro duced "Conversations on Japan" from the study book, assisted by Mrs. J. Stoner and Mrs. S. Me. Ilwain. Mrs. S. A. Moote reinstat- ed the 1957 officers with the ex• ception of the Baby Band leader and Christian citizenship secretary. Mrs. G. Orr and Mrs. 8. Mcllwain were named to these posts. At the reception held at the home of the bride's parents, the pride's mother received the guests in a light brown dress with white accesseries and a corsage of red and white carnations.
