The United Church Mission Band met in the basement during ,lhe regular morning service. Karen Dawson, president, led in the wor- ship service. Mrs. Hugh McWhin- ney read the 'Scripture lesson. Mrs. Alvin Sherwood accompanied at the piano for hymns. The election of officers resulted as follows: pre- sident, Heather Kennedy; vice-pre- sident, Robert Sherwood; treasurer, Cathy Kennedy; secretary, Sharon Park; World Friends secretary, Rabin McWhinney. Mrs. Root. Irvin's S.S. No. 6 school was unable to give a number due to illness of pupils. Miss Beth McConnell, librarian, made a few remarks. On Tuesday only eight pupils of 32 enrolled attended school in the junior room. Wood attend'i the annual meeting of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Ontario 'Oo ltiee). There the general policy of Air Cadet squadrons across Ontario was "•eg'tlssed and laid buf for - the c year. Mr. Sully and William Haysom, of the new sponsoring eonrniittee (see below) were present to discuss the coming activities of the squadron with F/L. J. M. Cult. On November 5, attendance was down slightly. A commanding of- ficer's parade wa.s held arld F/L. Cutt inspected the squadron, com- menting on -' the need for improve- inent in dress, etc. At that time, he announced that there would be a sports cornrlpetition at the YMCA in Stratford with the Stratford squadron. Goderich will be represented by two volleyball teams (junior) and a basketball team (senior). Also, he spoke of the forthcoming rifle competition with Stratford at Clin- ton RCAF Station. "All this," he said, "will lead up to our yearly competition with Stratford in the spring." Two weeks ago, the NGOs took their drill test, and the LAC's drill test has been spread over two weeks.
