A thank - you card was read from Mrs. How- ard Durnin wliich was written on behalf of her sister, Mrs. Matthew Shackleton, a valued member, who is ill at Victoria hospital, London. Mrs. Raymond Finnigan read the last of needs for the W.M.S. bale. Mrs. M Reed g'av'e -a detailed re- port of the sectional meeting at Goderich on October 10. An in- vitation was read from Zion Aux- iliary to attend the thank -offering meeting November 6. Mrs. Her'b Finnigan offered her haane for the December. meeting. Mrs. Ander son closed with prayer. Erskine Presbyterian cehurch on Sunday afternoon held service at the usual hour, 3 p.m., but with a special motive. Rev. Wallace McLean delivered the address and with the dedication of lovely choir loft carpeting in memory of the late Mrs. Richard McWhinney. Miss Iva Carr lauded her valued work in the church and W.M.S. Miss Norma Murray, organist, pre- sided at the organ and accompan- ied a duet sung by the Black sis- ters, Miss Betty Black and Mrs. Ray Stanley. The Y.P.U. met Monday night with Tom Fowler in charge who is citiizenship and service conven- er. Jim Blake presided at the piano lo hymns. Lynda Blake led in prayer. The topic by Tom Fowler was "What Christianity Means." After- recreation, lunch was served. The United church observed an- niversary services on Sunday. Rev. Roy, Kennedy, minister, delivered fine messages at each service. Love- ly bouquets of various colored chrysanthemums decorated the church. A 'bouquet of mums were on the altar table, placed by Mrs. Wtn. Bradley, Goderich, in memory of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Alton. Mrs. Leroy Sting - el, organist, presided at the organ for the anthems by the choir and a solo by Mr. Carl Seivert. In the evening, the Westfield male quar- tette sang two numbers. The Coderieh juniors will play against the Exeter group in Exeter on No/ember 7. The annual commencement held on Friday 'evening was a succus. Awards and scholarships, gradua- tion diplomas and secondary school diplomas were awarded and music- al numbers were sung by Vie Sen- ior Glee Club, Junior Glee Club, All Girl Choir and the Class of 104, Dancing„ followed the coda- meneemeht progra. An assembly will be' held on Friday morning to commemorate Remembrance Day. It will he put on by grade 13; with the help of Mrs. Diggon and Mr. Shaw.
