ST. HELENS, May 13. -The com-
munity was saddened by the sud-
den death on Tuesday of Mrs.
Colin McDonald, formerly Mary
Edith Durnin, a lifelong resident
here.
Christian Family Day was ob-
served in the United Church on
Sunday morning with Mr. Lorne
Wood, the Sunday School superin-
tendent, in charge of the worship
service. Terry Wilson read the
Scripture lesson. The choir sang
the anthem, "We Thank Thee for
Our Mothers," and Rev. B. F.
Green gave the address. Bonnie
Jean Marie, daughter of , Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd: Humphrey, and Mar-
jory Gail, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William MacPherson, were
baptized.
Plans are being made for the,
annual Flower Sunday in the Un-
ited Church on May 26.
Mrs. Wm. Ferguson, of Amber -
ley, has been engaged as teacher
in the St. Helen's school for the
next term.
Hypnotic Marvels
To Be Staged Here
Today the Canadian Legion an-
nounced arrangements have been
completed for the big ,professional
stage show, "Hypnotic Marvels"
which brings Dr. Morton Greene
here for an evening of entertain-
ment, including astounding feats
of prophecy, demonstrations of
hypnotism in all its exciting and
mysterious phases. The show is
to be held in the collegiate audi-
torium, Friday, June 7th. Pro-
ceeds will be used by Branch 109
to furnish a room in the hospital.
Dr. Greene has received nation--
wide : acclaim from theatre and
radio audiences, and has also ap-
peared in television, and the
Legion 'feels the entertainment
consists of fast, clean fun in the
mystery field and holds appeal for
