The Woman's AsSociation
Knox United Church met Tuesday
evening of last week.
The "Loyal Hearts" were in
charge of the program with Mrs.
liallcz presiding for the devotion-
al period and Mrs. Norman Wight -
man at the piano.
Scripture reading was read by
Mrs. Charles Millian. Mrs. Fred
Toll gave a reading and followed
with prayer. Master •Maleolm Hiltz
favored with a solo. accompanied
by Miss Margaret A. Jackson. Mrs.
Hiltz then introduced the guest
speakers for the evening, Misses
Margaret Wright and Joan Milk
These were two of tin' girls who
had attended Alma College last
summer. Joan showed paitures
the college and described them
fully and Nlargaret outlined their
classes of studies which were based

4-H Club Meets
The eighth anti final meeting of
the Auburn Annettes was held
Tuesday evening of last 'week at
the home of the assistant leader
with seven members present. The
roll call was answered .by telling
of something the girls had learned
from the project, "Sleeping Gar-
ments." Plans were made to at-
tend Achievement Day to' be held
March 9 at Seaforth. -Everyone
finished. record books and pyjamas
and sent them to Clinton. Lunch
was semed by Bertha 'de Haan and
Mrs. Thelma 'McDougall.
The Garden Club requires regis
tration immediately from any girls,
12 to 16, interested. Please give
your name to Mrs. Ed. Davies a,
soon as possi,ble so she may be ,
- able to get your seeds.

Mrs. Roy Finnigan visited her
mother, Mrs. Donald Fowler, who

First Aid Demonstrated ,
The Walkerburn Club met last
Thursday afternoon at the home
of 'Mrs. John Snyder with a large
attendance. The president, Mrs.
James IVICRougall, was in charge.
The secretary, Mrs. George Schnei-
der, read the minutes of the pre-
! vious meeting and the treasurer's
report was given by* Mrs. Len
i Archambault. The lucky winner
of the draw was Mrs. Bert flunk-
ing. A demorodration on First Aid
was given by Mrs. Elliott Lapp
and Mrs. Stuart Ament. Plans
were made to hold an auction at
next meeting to be held at the
home of 'Mrs. Joseph Verewey.
Ilesoesses were Mrs. George Schnei-
der, Mrs. James McDougall.
Couple Honored
Mr. and Mrs. William Moss were
tendered a surprise party last Sat-
urday evening when 18 of their
friends gathered to honor them
on the occasion _of their 25th wed-
ding anniversary.
The evening was spent playing
cords and a dainty lunch was
served by the visiting ladies. After
lunch was served, Mrs. Alvin
Plunkett presented Mr. and Mrs.
Moss with a silver casserole and a
dozen silver teaspoons on behalf
of those present. Mr. and Mrs.
Moss thanked their friends for the
gift and the surprise party.

was formerly Marian _ McKay,
daughter of the late..Mr. and Mrs.
George McKay. Moncrief, and
Mr. Moss is the son of the late
Mr. and IMrs. Fred Moss, of West
Wawanosh. After their marriage,
they resided in West Wawanosh
until five years ago when they
moved to Auburn where Mr. Moss
is engaged in. the trucking busi-
ness. They have two daughters,
Ruth, who has a position at Radar
(RCAF) School, Clinton, and Betty,

Street United Church Sunday even-
ing when an impressive service
marked their annual church par-
ade.
After the Narious groups march-
ed in and sat in a body in the
centre section of the church, the
standard bearers paraded to the
front of the church. There, they
placed their flags in the hands of
the minister, Rev. A. E. EuStace,
who' arranged them at either side
of the pulpit for the duration of
the service. The standard bearers
were: Wayne Jessop, Frank Gard -

A Finalist
Mr. Kenneth Hunking, of S.S.
No. 9, Hullett, attended the Strat-
ford Zone finals of the Ontario
Spelling Bee an Monday ,evening.
Congratulations to Kenneth for his
brilliant attempt. His parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Hunking, and fam-
ily also attended this event at the
Stratford Teachers' College, along
