The Agricultural, Hall was the
scene of social activity on Satur-
day afternoon and evening, when
'a bridal reception was held for
friends and relatives of the bridal
couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sinnett
(nee Yvonne Vassella, of the Kings-
bridge district) who were married
earlier that day. About 150 at-
tended the reception. Music for
dancing was provided by musicians
from among the guests and re-
freshments were served.
The Y.P.U. held the bi-weekly
meeting on Monday night. Jim
Blake was in charge, being con-
vener of faith and evangelism.
Wayne Brown read the Scripture
lesson. Jim Blake read a poem,
"Here Am I," also a story and of-
fered prayer. Rev. G. Watt con-
ducted a question box.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Glenn on Sunday were Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Cranston o Belfast; Mr.
and Mrs. Oliver Glenn and daugh-

Fred Young, Mrs. Harvey Alton
and Mrs. Lorne Ivers took part in
the devotional period. Rev. G.
Watt conducted the installation of
officers or 1957. It was decided
to get samples of dishes in view of.
purchasing same for the church
kitchen. A committee was appoint-
ed for that punpose. It was decid-
ed to join the Huron Presbytery
this year. Five dollars was don-
ated to the Y.P.U. to print church
programs and a quilt was donated
to the Fred Victor Mission, Tor-
onto. To the next meeting, Febru-
ary 15, members are each asked
to bring a prospective member
Lunch was served by the hostesses.
W.M.S. Meets. — The United
Church W.M.S. met in the church
'basement with 14 members and
three visitors present. Mrs. Clit•
ford Crozier, the presiderit,.. was
in charge. Mrs. Harvey Anderson
led in the devotional exercises.
Mrs. Raymond Finnigan aecom-
panied at the piano for the hymns.
Mrs. Arthur Elliott read tile Scrip-
ture lesson and Mrs. M. Shackle-
ton led in prayer. The secretafy,
Mrs. C. Fowler, read the minutes
and "Thank you" notes. Mr.
George Hodges gave a paper on
Malaya and Indonesia. Mrs. G.
Watt and Mrs. Herb Finnigan show-
ed a film on Korea which is the
subject of study this year. Mrs.
Crozier thanked the ladies for tak-
ing part. Two lovely quilts were
brought to the meeting; one has
been sent as a supply quilt tor
relief work in British Columbia.

Held.—The annual meeting of the
Dungannon United Church was
conducted by the paytor, Rev. G.
D. Watt and Mrs. Clifford Crozier
was secretary. The minute.s of
the last meeting were read and

100th birthday celebration of her

and Karen Dawson, a great-grand-

tivities.
Mrs. Violet Farrish and her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Stuart John-
ston, of Blyth, visited recently
with the former's mother, Mrs. J.

MacKenzie .spent last week visiting
his brother, Professor F. Scott
MacKenzie, D.D., of Montreal Col-
lege.
Mr. and Mrs. Will MacDonald
are visiting this week with rela-
tives in Detroit. Miss Barbara,
Wenzel returned to Detroit with
them aftu, spending a 'week of her
holidays In Kintail.
Many friends from Detroit at-
tended the wedding of Yvonne
Vassella and James Sinnett. Their
many friends wish them health and
happiness.
Mr. D. A. MacDonald, of Loch-
alsh, is confined to Kincardine hos-
pital. 'His son, Finlay, of Chatham,
and daughters, Louise and Selena,
of Windsor, visited with him aver
the week -end.
Mrs. Kenneth Farrish, Bill, and
Mrs. Duncan Farrish spent a few
days in Detroit.
We are glad to hear that Mrs.
Norman O'Connor is improving
after her recent operation.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert IMacIn
leave this week for Florida.
Many of the old neighbors of the
late Joseph McMillan attended the

Jacques Godin, a one-time accounting student turned actor, has the
title -role in "Radisson"—a television production being fifined in '
and around Montreal and scheduled for network presentation this
month. The role of Pierre Radisson, the famed 17tfi century
Canadian explorer, fur trader and adventurer, is a , "natural"
for outdoor -loving Godin, an enthusiastic skier, swimmer, and
weight -lifter, who appeared in this season's Stratford Festival.

(Mr. Ernest Glen was called, then
chosen, to sit on the jury at the
Supreme Court Assizes beld in
Goderieh last week.
Last Friday evening, the mem-
bers of the Junior lsed Cross of
Carlow No, .1 School entertained
their parents and some ,friends in
the Township Hall. Mr. Charlie
Watson, of Sarnia, (son of Mr. Bill
Watson, who looks after school
supplies in this district) showed
pictures of a trip he took with his
parents and family last swishier.
Along with the slides, Mr. Watson
gave a most informative comment-
ary. A contest followed, won by
Mrs. Jim Prest. Cards were play-
ed with high scores held by Mrs.
Bill Watson and Mr. Jim Prest and.
low scores by Mr. Stan MeGratten
and Mr. Tait Clark. To close a
most enjoyable evening, the child-
ren served a tasty lunch, provided
by the parents.
