games last Saturday.
In the first game the Cruisers
defeated the Infantry by a 3-1
score. John Hughes, Peter Bet-
tger and Walter Kelly scored for
the Cruisers; Billy Twaddle tallied •
for the Infantry. In the second
game, 'the Ground Crew trounced
the Artillery 5-0. John Pirie and
Ron :Mugford each scored two, and

a pot luck fee supper on Tuesday

Geoff gc Golden Goldthorpe, of Tor-, -
onto, died suddfnly in Collingwood
on January 10, while on a business
trip. He was 47.
Funeral service was held in the
chapel of Sherrin funeral home in
Toronto on January 14 at 1.30
p.m_ Interment was in Pine Hills 1
cemetery.
The son of Mrs. Emma Gold-
thorpe and tho-_late, Albert Gold -.I
thorpe, of Goderich, he was edu-
cated at Saltford Public School
and Goderich Collegiate Institute.
During the Second World War, he
served in the RCAF. He resided
in Detroit and Schumacher before
settling in Toronto about 15 years
ago. Mr. Goldthorpe travelled for
the Barbet Machine and Tool Corn -1
pany. He belonged to the An-
glican Church.
Surviving are -his wife, the form -1
erg Hazel Andrews; two sons, Rote

Mrs. Emma -Goldthorpe; one sister,
Mrs. A. R. Moore, of Stratford,

inspectorate No. 2 were selected
in finals held Tuesday night in
Goderich Public School in con-
junction with the meeting of Gode-
rich Home .and School Association.
The winners were Phyllis Bryans,
of Seaforth Public School, daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Russell Bryans,
and Kenneth Flunking, of S.S. 9,
Hullett, son o'f Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Bunking, of Hullett Township.
Inspector G. Glen Gardiner in-
troduced Clarence Trott, of Clin-
ton RCAF Public School, who was
the spelling master for the finals.
He said that the purpose of the
match sponsored by the Ontario
Educational Association in co-oper-
ation wirtll The Telegram, was to
stimulate interest in spelling.
Winners will now go to 'the
zone finals at Stratford, and top,
winners at Stratford will compete
in provincial finals at Toronto,
April 25.

ham, 81, wbo died in Alexandra

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Graham, he was a well-
known sailor and fisherman. At
various times, he had engaged in
fishing at Meaford, Port Stanley
and Goderich. He was a membee
of Knox Presbyterian Church and
of Huron Lodge No. 62, IOOF.
Unmarried, he is survived by
one brother, Malcolm, and one
sister, Mrs. James Smith, both of
Goderich.

ceived by Huron (aunty Health
Unit.' Clinics for elementary and
secondary school pupils will be
held during February, March and
