Wa.ehitgton last Tues- day' afternoon with 22 embers and three visitors present. Mrs. Gay Cunningham gave the call to woa',ehip. Mrs. William J. Craig was pianist throughout the meet- ing. Mrs. William Dodd read the Scripture lesson ,followed with prayer by Mrs. Leonard Archarn- 141te, egre, K,e . eth . il.I,epou.. ll gave a report of 'we morning ses- sion of the Huron Presbyterial of the WAILS. which was held at Exeter on April 10. The heralds responded as called: Mrs. Elliott Lapp on Japan, Mrs. Fred Toll on Christian Stewardship and Mrs. Guy Cunningham on temperance. The afternoon session report of the Prbyterial was given by Mrs. Gordon MoClinchey, substituting for Mrs. Oliver Anderson. Mrs. W. J. Craig favored with a solo, "Almost Persuaded." The offering was received by Mrs. E. Lapp and Mrs. Wm. Dodd. Miss Margaret R. Jackson read a chapter from the study book. Mrs. F. Toll then came forward asking Mrs. Earl Wightman to stand beside her at which time a few well-chosen words were spoken to Mrs. Wight - man Eby Mrs. Toll on behalf of the W.M.S., who presented her with a life-- memberifiip -pin and cer- tificate. Mrs. Wightman, although taken by surprise, voiced her ap- preciation and thanks. Mrs. Cun- ningham thanked all the ladies who had helped her with the meeting. The ,president, Mrs. Wightman, then took charge. She spoke a few words of welcome to everyone and thanked all who had taken part in the meeting and also the hostess, Mrs. Washington, and the ladies who prepared and served the lovely lunch. The secretary, Mrs. Roy Easom, read the mintites of the previous meeting. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Harold Webster. Moved by Mrs. Toll and seconded by Mrs. Albert Campbell that we accept the invitation ee Westfield on May 17. Several items of business were discussed 'and planned. -We were - pleased to have Rev. Washington pronounce the benediction, after Which a delicious lunch was served by the host and hostess, assisted by Mrs. John Durnin's group. Mrs. Roy Easom, secretary. The Anglican Guild of St. Mark's Church was held at the home of Mrs. Sam Daer on Friday 'after- noon. The president, Mrs. John Daer, opened the meeting. Mrs. Gordon R. Taylor presided at the piano for the meeting. Mrs. Alfred Nesbitt read the Scripture lesson and prayers followed. Mrs. Robert J. Phillips gave a reading on "The Golden Isle of Prayer." Mrs. Larry Glasgow read a chapter of the study book. Mrs. Frank Nesbitt -fevered 'with a, Piano instrumental; Rev. Bren de Vries, gave the topic .roar P__.ees ne eesapiakeinge ,.t,o- t- "•ladies church symbols and their meanings. Mrs. G. Taylor and Mrs. L. Glasgow` sang a duet accompanied by Mrs, R. J. Phillips. Plans for the Mother's Day tea and bazaar were completed. Rev. de Vries' mother from Hon arid was introduced a n d welt keyed. The Hostess, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell, and Mrs. John Daer, served dainty refreshments. -Mrs. Ed. Davies, secretary. Mrs. Charles Nevins and Marg- aret visited in Seaforth over the week -end with her daughter, Mrs. Ross Nicholson, Mr. Nicholson, Paul and Louise. Miss Ella Wagner, R.N., of Wayne, Mich., and Miss Laura Wagner, R.N., of Syracuse, N.Y., visited last week with their bro- ther, Walter Wagner, and Miss Minnie Wagner and other relatives. Mrs. William J.Craig recently attended the Delaware O.E.S. where Grand Ruth of the Grand Chapter of Ontario was honored as well as the Ruth Points of the district who put on . the degree work. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Finnigan visit- ed on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Finnigan. Mrs. Gearge Hamilton and Mrs. J. .T. Robertson were Lucknow visitors one day last week. Miss- Rena McClinchey attended the May Prom at the Stratford Teacher's College last week.
