After gaining top honors at the'
Jaycee Driving Road -e -o held in
Goderich during the Easter boli -
days, Malcolm Campbell and Don
Chhi'sholm' travelled to 11,itchener
last Saturday far further competi-
tion. Malcolm placed second, just
four points 'below first place with
4Q1 of a possible 550 points. Don
did exceedingly well too. 'His
score was 388.

gin, it was announced there would
be no farther dances held. this

Athletic Banquet is to be the last

HOLMESVILLE, May 18. — The
W.M.S. of Holmesville United
Church met in the Sunday School
rooms for the May, meeting. Mrs.
Les Jervis was in charge of the
program, and took. as the •theme
"Live and Give." The call to wor-
ship was given by Mrs. Jervis.
Prayer was offered by Mrs. 11. C.
Wilson and&Mrs. W. R. Lobb read
the Scripture lesson. The com-
ments on the Scripture were given
by the leader, Who °also read an
article on "Prayer." Mrs. C. Wil-
son read a true story about an
answer to. prayer. Mrs.. William
Norman and Mrs. Edward Grigg
sang _a duet. Mrs. Cannan Teb-
butt reviewed the chapter in the
study book. Mrs. Wilson gave
some short temperance notes. Mrs.
Jervis read' 'a poem. The presi-
dent, Mrs. William Norman, con-
ducted the business, and the meet-
ing closed with a hymn and pray-
er. The W.A. meeting followed,
and was conducted by the- presi-
dent, Mrs. Jack Yeo. The Scrip-
ture lesson and comnnerits were

ASHFIELD, May 18.—Mr. and
Mrs. 'Colin MacGregor left last
week to visit with relatives in the
Canadian West. They motored
with their brother-in-law, Mr.
l Evans, who was here on a business
trip.
Miss Donalda MacGregor, of
Duluth, visited with John MacKay
and her aunt, Mrs. Fletcher, in
Lucknow.
Ross MacLean, of Regina, and
his sister, Mrs. Christine Morrison,
of California, are visiting with
friends in Lochalsh and Amberley.

The regular May meeting of St.
George's Evening Guild was held
in the Guild Room last Wednes-
day evening with 23 members pre-
sent.

MRS. 0. 'E. FLEMING , Widow of the rrst mayor of
Windsor and a former resident of'
Goderich, Mrs. Caroline Mattd
Fleming died on Wednesday of
last week at the home of her son,
Donalii W. Fleming, Riverside,
after a short illness.
Born in Kingsville, Mrs. Flem-
ing was educated there and in
Toronto before moving to Windsor
where she was married 64 years
ago to Oscar E. Fleming.
She and her husband had lived
in Goderich for about .10 years
after Mr. Fleming retired from his
active life as a Windsor barrister
until his death in 1944. Since
then she brad lived at varying
times in Goderich, Windsor and
Toronto with members 01 her fam-
ily. ..,,a� .
She is 'aurvived by five sons and
six daughters. Funeral service
was held Friday afternoon in
Windsor with interment at Sand-
wich. .
