Graham and Frank Sills asking the Legislature to con- sider the name of Thomas Pryde, ALL.A., when changes are made in the cabinet. Mr. Sills considered Mr. Pryde would be itn asset as €i provincial minister. He said he was speak- ing non-politically. No Objection Warden Johnston felt that our Liberal friends would have. no ob- jection to the request. The recommendation. of the T.eg.is- lative'Conniittee were adopted as follows: Concurrence in a request from Colborne Township that Coun- cil seek an amendment to the dog tax and that with Howick Town- ship to pass a bylaw closing certain streets in 'the village of Wroxeter. The Executive Committee brought in It recommendation to the 1953 -Council to make a grant of $20,000 for a new wing to \Vingham hos- pital. A deputation had requested a grant of $35,000 and Reeve It. 13. Cousins and others male a strong plea for this amount. The 48 -bed hospital is badly overcrowded, they said. Finally tionotion by R. B. Qousinu and Reeve John . Fischer, of Tut n - berry that the recommendation to the 1953 council give a $35,000 grant, was lost on a recorded vote of 9.21, - it was pointed out that over- crowding is common in all four hospitals in the county.
