all ages. Hardcover books sold
for 10 cents each, while paper-

quarter. It was paradise for book
lovers, and scores passed
through the room to get as many
bargains as possible.

worms would reach out for the

The wroxeter residents took
'another step forward last week in
their fight to make their opinions
heard on flood plain mapping and
its consequences for - the village.
At a meeting held in the Wroxeter
Community Hall on ,Erriday, 51
interested and very 'Y concerned
citizens nominated a committee
to voice the residents' opposition
to flood plain mapping and land-
fill restrictions.
The meeting, called to bring
Wroxeter residents up to date on
recent developments in the
continuing fight against the
government, was called by Bruce
Chambers, chairman of the vil-
lage town fathers. The committee
nominated unanimously at the
byterian Church, the sacrament
of baptism was given to Ry, an
Alexander, son of Mr. and Mks.
Alex Craig; Lisa Dawn Ann;
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Craig of Wingham; Scott Ed-
ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nell
Rantoul of West Wawanoah. Miss
Lori Purdon and David Elliott
joined the church and Mrs. Jim
de Boer was received by transfer
of certificate. Rev. Glenn Noble
of Lucknow conducted the bap-
tismal and communion service.
Mrs. Wallace Milligan, Mary
Low and' Clara on Monday last
went to Streetsville, spent the
night with her daughter, Mrs. Pat
Donnelly, Mr. Dqnnelly and
family and on Tuesday all spent
the day in Toronto.

the ,Lakelett ,girls met at the home,;
of Mrs.13ehrns. Lynn,1 rove -read
the minutes of the last meeting.
Mrs. Mann discussed snacks
and small meals. Mrs. Behrns led
a review of basic principles of
making yeast dough bread. The
girls also completed plans for
Achievement Day.
In group work, the girls made
Dutch mini -cakes which were
later tasted.

DONNYBROOK — The third
meeting was held at the home of
Mary Ellen and Margaret Foran.
All members were present.
Mary Ellen talked about batter
breads and Achievement Day
plans were discussed. The club
will to a skit. The club name will
be Flour Power.
Debbie Jefferson and Cathie
McClinchey will make a picture
for the book covers. Brown batter
rolls' were made with everyone
taking a turn in mixing them.
They ate what had been made at
the last meeting as well as oat-
meal batter bread that Mary
Ellen had made.
The fourth meeting was held at
the home of Anne Boyle. Mrs.
Robinson talked about sweet
dough for rolls and refrigerator
rolls. The girls punched down the
dough Mrs. Robinson had ready
and divided it so each girl had a
different shape to make. While
the dough was rising Mary Ellen
Foran talked about sour dough
starter. There was about a half
an hour to make the buns of
different varieties.
Mrs. Robinson handed out the
blue "Duo tang" covers. She also
showed sour dough starter which
members must make before the
next meeting.

spent a few days with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mc-
Clenaghan, and on Sunday she
had to attend a 25th wedding
anniversary in London. Mr. and
Mrs. Melvin McClenaghan of
Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs.
Michael McClenaghan of Stoney
Creek spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Ben McClenaghan. On
Sunday evening Mr. and Mrg.
Harry Moss of Plattsville re-
turned from London to be with
Mr. and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan.

wins award
An area resident and student at
Fanshawe College in London will
be the recipient of an award at
the Sixth .Annual Awards Night
this . Friday. College officials
have announced that Gerald
Bere, 23, of Joseph Street,
Dungannon, will be presented the
Ontario Gene al Contractors
Association Proficiency Award at
the college tomorrow evening.
Mr. Bere is a student in the con-
structiop teghnician program at
