Wingham resident dies in hospital
The last surviving member of a
family of eleven, Mrs. William
John Krohn of North Street,
Wingham, died in Wingham and
District Hospital on Tuesday,
October 21. She was in her 89th
year.
Born in East Wawanosh Town-
ship on April 15, 1887, Mrs. Krohn
was the former Caroline Margar-
et Thom, a daughter of the late
Charles Thom and Eliza Flem-
ing. She was predeceased by her
eight sisters, Mrs. David (Laura)
Johnston, Mrs. Ted (Jessie)
Jones, Mrs. John (Mary) Camp -

Church where deceased was a
member. Interment followed in
Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were six grand
sons, James Krohn, David
McKay, John Krohn, Terry
McDougall, `William Martin and
Doug Krohn. Floral tributes were
carried by Stanley Krohn and
Fred Krohn, also grandchildren
of the deceased.

Rev. P. Duffy of Teeswater.

ceased's two sons, Don and
Wilfred; his son-in-law, Jim
Shaw; Harry Gerrie, Carl Frie-

Mr, Caskanette • passed away,'"
Friday, October 24, at .the Wifig-
ham and District Hospital follow-
ing a brief illness. Born 66 years
ago in Munising, Michigan, he
was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Caskanette. At the age of
10, he came to Ontario, residing
in the Riversdale area where he
received his education.
On October 5, 1938, he married.
the former Agnes Lippert of
Greenock in Riversdale and they
came to Wingham where he later
operated the Supertest Service
Station for 20 years. He has been
retired for the past five years.
Mr. Caskanette was a member
of Sacred Heart Church, Wing -
ham ; . the Knights of Columbus,
Walkerton; and the Wingham ,M
Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving, besides his wife, are
one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Fran-
ces) Shaw of RR 1, Bluevale; two
sons, Don of Guelph and Wilfred
with the Canadian Armed Forces
at Calgary; and seven grand-
children. He is also survived by
five sisters and five brothers. He
was predeceased by one sister
and one brother.
