`ants,
0. Monday of this week 28 3-6
0$1r old children showed up at
the park with lots of enthusiasm
and zest for living. They had even
WV -registered for their program.
Pictures are in this • issue of the A-
T, but this is not the case for the
program offered for the 7-14 year
olds.
When we hear, `There's nothing
to do in this town' it hurts just a
little when there has been so
much effort to organize a pro-
gram for that group of young
people. We like to remain flexible
so that if there are other pro-
grams of interest we can switch
midstream it there are no com-
pNcations. The activities are on-
going and for one small fee one
can participate in all the pro-
grams
grams offered. They are not re-
stricted to just ohe activity. Ten-
nis, which is a growing sport;
archery, which might be new to
some of the youngsters but is fun
. and easy; orienteering, which is
just new to some of the young
ones here since Mr. Mann came
to town; soccer, which is usually
played by the elementary school
students; and creative drama
which takes place each Saturday.
If you or your children are in-
terested in these activities, they
take place at the F. E. Madill SS
each day from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Just go up and let the leaders
knowyou would like to -take part.
THE LEADERS
By name they are Susan Burke,
Pat Scott, and Keith Nethery and
they have gone through extensive
training to look after the children
this summer.
DAY CAMP
After the regular program has
been completed a day camp pro-
gram has been planned to oper-
ate from Aug. 4 to Aug. 15. The
fee for that -program is just a
small $3.00 for the two weeks ante
that includes milk. Writeus a
note and tell us your children
want to take part. You will be
notified immediately. •

Theatre Group
Creative and imaginative chil-
dren 7-14,years old have a special
place this summer -- in the little
theatre group.
The theatre program is part of
"Sunsperience '75" sponsored by
the Wingham Recreation Depart-
ment. It starts this Saturday and
will be held every Saturday until
August 30. The final date, of
course, is scheduled for a grand
performance.
The course will include every-
thing - from the meaning of
drama, acting exercises and
theatre techniques to actual stag-
ed plays and performances. It
will be a learning experience, and
a fun time, with the children
participating in all the acting,
staging, make-up, costuming and
props.
Registration for this course to
date has been rather discour-
aging, but the instructors have
not given up hope. They don't
need a .very large group, but just
a little larger than what it is now.
It will be held outdoors in good
weather, west of the swimming
pool, or indoors at the town hall in
• case of rain. The time is Saturday
mornings from 9 to 12. So hurry
up and register - a chance like
this doesn't come often.

MARTIN BENEDICT was one of the Scout leaders supervising the Wingham Scouts at
camp last week, but he never imagined baking pies would be one of his duties. He came
through with flying colors, however, for the best ever cherry pie.
THIS IS THE LIFE!. Doug Taylor indulges in the luxury of a hammock during a W -day
Scout camp last week. The Scouts did work hard, but moments, like this made it all worth-
while.
