OPP Re-forms Golden Helmets
Commissioner Harold Graham
off the Ontario Provincip, Police
recently announced the re-
formation of the OPP Motorcycle
Precision Riding Team "The
Golden Helmets". The team will
start its exhibition schedule
immediately after labor day,

-Tie Golden Helmets",
originally formed and trained in
1963, is comprised of experienced
highway patrol officers from
various OPP detachments in
southern Ontario. Each member
is specially selected from volun-

Under the direction of assistant
commissioner R. H. Devereux of

their intricate maneuvers at
numerous fairs and exhibitions in
Ontario.

The Peace River District has
never ceased to agitate for a
direct rail outlet to the Pacific
coast, and as early as the 1800's,
Saskatchewan and Manitoba
were pressing for a railroad to
Hudson's Bay.

Lake of the Woods near the
Manitoba border, boasts 14,000
islands and 60,000 miles of shore-
