Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Clifford (Rena) lltlenary of
Ashfield Township and Mrs, Mac
(Freda) Scott of Belgrave; one
son, John of Ashfield Township;
six grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren. Also surviving
are one sister, Mrs. feorge
(Edith) Phillips of West Wawa -
nosh, and one brother, Dynes of
Dungannon. She was pre-
deceased by one daughter, Doris,
in 1927; one sister, Mrs. Herman
(Nellie) Phillips, and one grand-
son, Donald Scott.
J.' Walter Murray
The death of Joseph Walter
Murray of Richmond Hill, On-
tario occurred 'in Clearwater,
Florida, on Sunday, February 23;
he was in- his 68th year,
Walter Murray was born in
Teeswater, a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Murray. He
received his education at the
Teeswater Public School and the
Teeswater Continuation School
and for many years was a
pharmacist in the, Toronto area.
He retired about five years ago.
Surviving are his, wife, Ann;
one son, Paull of Calgary; four
sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Hazel)
Roane of Teeswater, Mrs. Oliver
(Esther) Donald of Mount
Forest, Mrs. Paul (Anne) Van -
stone and Mrs. Gordon (Mary)
Kerr both of Wingham; four
brothers, Tom of Goderich, Ken
of Mississauga, Dave of Winnipeg
and Bob of Listowel. He was
predeceased by three brothers, '1 -
William, formerly of 'Wingham,
Cyril (Goder!ch) and Ford
(Brampton). •

ruary 28, following a brie ''

Born on August 20, 1892, an Cul-
ross Township, Bruce County,
Mr. Edgar was°a son of the late
James and j'razices Edgar. He
attended Salem School in :Illil-
ross.
Mr. Edgar wins a veteran of
World War I, having served over-
seas with the 160 Battalion and in
France with the 18th Battalion.
He was wounded at Amiens.
Deceased, who has been retired
for many years, was a member of
the Wingham United Church, The
Lebanon Chapter No. 84, Royal
Arch Masons, Wingham Masonic
Lodge No. 286, A.F. & A.M. and
the Royal Canadian Legion,
Wingham Branch 180.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Jean Campbell, whom he
married in Wingham in 1920;
three daughters, Mrs. Andrew
(Evelyn) Bell of Petrolia, Shirley
Edgar of Wingham and Joan
Edgar of London; four grand-
children, Mrs. Doug (Penny) Mc-
Cullough of British ColuYnbia,
Paul of Petrolia, Beverley of
Sarnia and Mrs, John (Barbara)
Needham of London.
He was predeceased by five
brothers, George, William, Al-
bertus, Arthur and Harvey, and
one sister, Mrs. Wes (Emma)
Haines.
The late Mr. Edgar rested at
the R. A. Currie and Son Funeral
Home, Wingham, where Rev.
Barry Passmore conducted
service Sunday at two o'clock.
Interment followed in Wingham
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were six nephews,
Harvey and Maitland Edgar,
Lewis Stonehouse, Charles John-
ston, Harris and Alan Campbell.
Flower bearers were Alex Skinn
and Vern Reid.
A service under the ,auspices of
Wingham Masonic Lodge No. 286,
A.F. & A.M., was held in the
funeral home Saturday evening
at 7:30.

funeral of her cousin, the late
Miss Irene Butchart of Clifford.

The late Mrs. Blair rested at
the Tasker Funeral Home, Blyth,
until Monday, February 24.

by Rev. Cecil . Wittick. Interment
followed in Blyth Union Ceme-
tery.

ton on Thursday, February 27,
Mrs. John R. (Elizabeth) But-
ler of Clinton, in her 73rd year.
She is survived by one dai;)gh-
ter, Mrs. Harvey (Audrey)
Chuter of Owen Sound; two
sons, Lloyd of Clinton and
Jack of Mitchell; 12 grand-
children; 10 great grandchil-
dren; and three sisters, Mrs,
W. (Iva) Riehl and Mrs. Car-
son (Margaret) Snowden, both
of Wingham, and Mrs. Dick
(Sarah) Stephenson of Brus-
sels. She was predeceased by
her husband in 1953 and one
daughter Jean in 1926. The late
Mrs. Butler rested at the Ball
Funeral Home, Clinton, where
funeral service was held Sun-
day at 2:30 p.m. Interment
followed in Clinton Cemetery.

Convention in Toronto last, week.
During the banquet oa Tuesday
evening, Huron County Engineer,
James Brittpell of Goderich,
president for \the past year, ,was.
presented with a watch by Huron
County in appreciation of his ser-
vices. This presentation was
made by Ralph McNichol, chair-
man of the road committee. The
president's wife . was presented -
with a bouquet of roses by -Mrs.
Kerr.
